Just to clarify, this is for nominations and there will be another thread set up after this to vote for all nominated people.

There will be two representatives total

Really ;_; more time required to discuss this :(

Current tally:

. Rob Jones - 8 Votes
. Ignore List - 2 Votes
. Wolf-ey - 1 Vote, but is from America.
. Calm Enigma - 1 Vote, but said she does not want to volunteer.

Can we not just go with Rob & Ignore instead of making another thread to vote for them there ;_;

I'm not sure I'm the biggest fan of having representatives, but I agree it's amazing to see put effort towards trying to get the clanconversation going. If we'd settle on having people visit Jagex HQ (without getting kicked out by security), it should be people that are from the UK or the countries just across in the EU. Costs would be rediculous otherwise to get there.

If a vote will happen I'd like a short discription about the people & the country where they are from if possible. I recognise many people from the Forum, but not enough to make an informed choice.

I'm not seeing the point of this ?

Isn't that what this forum is for, why would we need to have a single person to "go visit" Jagex at work, Just make a thread with all that we want, and have that person put that on here, all seems pretty pointless to go interrupting people at work for what can be done right here !

and yes ... I know your going to start saying, this gets ignored etc, but the same can be said for a personal visit

I haven't posted in the CLF in over a year.

I think this idea is silly. Our "best" representatives may not be geographically situated to easily visit Jagex for a meeting. What is the plan, to fundraise and pay for their trip IRL? O_o

Are we to settle only on those whom reside near Cambridge or within the UK? What percentage of players (or clans) live in the United States? How about other countries? The UK player base is a small percentage of the global community and the clan community as a whole- to restrict ourselves to a representative of this demographic is underrepresenting ourselves.

Further, why exactly does Jagex NEED to provide additional Clan Updates? The history of Runescape Clans dates to BEFORE Runescape was released, but the first real updates within the game designed for clan use weren't released until 22 Feb 2005 (Team Capes) or 6 Aug 2007 (Friends Chat). Many of the clans (leaders) supporting this thread didn't even exist until AFTER the clan updates on 12 Apr 2011. I only mention these things because clans CAN exist without any help from Jagex. While it is nice for there to be clan updates, we CAN do it ourselves.

Clan Quest has had it's own fansite, dedicated forums, Voicechat systems, YouTube, and Social Media networks since BEFORE the massive Clan Updates in 2011. If they took away all the clan updates in game, our clan would still exist. Hell, if Runescape closed today, we would still exist.

I personally have met over 60 clan members IRL. Our clan meets IRL with frequency. We are meeting in November at my humble Ohio, USA with members visiting from Hong Kong, London, Netherlands, and Canada. We had over 20 people attend Runefest. Given that Runefest had roughly 1000 attendees, that means our clan represented 2% of all visitors. 2%! I can assure you, all of us spoke with Jmods about clan updates.

No one will represent Clan Quest but us, we can do it ourselves. If you tell me when they're going, we'll show up too.

How would you know about that? We've never tried having an in-person meeting to discuss our ideas before.

No one is trying to represent your clan for you. This CLF Representative election is to elect someone to represent the ideas for updates that the CLF has created, not the CLF clans. Your clan is not being undermined in any way by the CLF electing someone to meet in-person with Jagex to discuss clan updates.

I would prefer that they brought back the old meeting styles where we all got to talk.

Sorry I dont agree with a few selected few from a discord chat being made our clan voices.

Krisi that is fine, Zirak may not want to be represented and as a clan leader that is your view for the best of your clan, on the other hand a few clans aren't happy with the diminishing support for clans. Matthe and Maz are doing the best they can but have not got the support they need.

There are issues that have been addressed on clan leader discord, I understand you may not want to use it but keep in mind at any point you may have only received half of the discussion.
