I had the silliest idea for the citadel but I'm curious as to how people would respond to it.

Resources now directly go to the storehouse or w/e it is.
What if they instead went to the quartermaster or something where you could "trade" them to another player.

If you didn't trade them then at the build tick they'd go to the storehouse (does this really exist?).. And be used as normal.
A few rules would be both people trading must be members and have visited the citadel.

What'cha think?

Edit: Clarification if you traded someone (1k) resources then your cap would go down by (1k).

I think is a really neat idea! Not only would it add depth/meaningful content to citadels, and would honestly be really, really cool, but it would also incentivize clannies to skill at the citadel.

Though, 1k per week is a lot. Maybe the limit should be 10% of the resources you gathered the past week? This could be an expansion of the fealty system.

Also, who would be eligible to redeem such resources/have priority to do so? And what would these items be?

Ore = coal?
Precious ore = gold?
Summoning = Charms? <-- OMG I WOULD DIE AND COME BACK TO LIFE JUST FOR THIS
Cooking = Great maki?

I think you misunderstood what I meant, I meant being able to trade resources between members... not turning them into resources.

but tbh you made it better. :o

Do you mean something like this: someone who likes capping trades the resources to someone who doesn't so the person who trades can continue collecting resources and the other has resources added to their cap without actually doing anything?

If so, I dunno, it doesn't seem fair seeing as there are rewards for capping, and it could get messy with people offering geepees to cap for them and stuff. But then, it could be a way to collect resources for the citadel without having to nag people etc.

Yeah that's the point, people have gotten to the point of asking that upkeep be removed this would somewhat help fix the issue of depletion. The only issue I see is people gaining to much free xp from citadel in skills like crafting but maybe reduced xp if you keep going or even no xp would be fine.

Sookie does have a point. This will make it possible to gain lots of free FM/Craft/Cook XP for example, while the cap is there also not to benifit too much from citadel.

When I did read the topic title, I thought u meant to trade resources with other clans, which I think is been suggested before and might be better but I doubt it will be possible.

I've thought of something like this but in a different way.

The only other thing than XP that would give people an incentive to cap would be making it a good money-making method.

There's no good way this can be implemented though, along with your idea.

Trading resources with other clans would mean they would just be able to buy T7 citadels, but you've mentioned that it's to be done between members of the same clan.

This would create issues for limiting off the XP at some point, and would materialise capping - defeating the whole purpose of the clan and citadel design, since it's meant to be as your personal cap and a measure of your contribution and help to the clan and its citadel which is an iconic representation of how much effort and commitment members have put into the clan.

It would ruin the integrity and essentially destroy the capping based aspect of ranking up in clans, since capping would simply be a reflection of someone's wealth (and those providing the resources capping doing it for the wrong reasons), rather than their commitment and contribution to the clan and its citadel.

Ultimately, apart from the XP naturally, the only incentive/purpose for people to cap is and should always be because they want to help and contribute to the clan and its citadel (hence ranking up etc) - it's basically the whole point of the system's design.

A fun idea but in reality something that wouldnt be beneficial to citadels. Mostly what progs has said.

I understand but like I said reduced/no xp would solve the problem.. as far as it being ethical I get that and all but clans need upkeep and it's becoming increasingly harder and harder to keep them open now.

To be honest the citadel should be something honourable for the clan. And if u have problems with upkeep many do not think alike.

- What u can do is have some alts in clan to help? And maybe those who help often reward with admin for avatar?

What we do is to encourage everyone for doing their 10% Summoning, so we do not have to close plots as if enough people do that u can if u do not have a resource of 1 kind due popularity fill that up with Summoning. As most people only want to train the skill they don't have 99/what gives more xp.
