A recent Jagex podcast went quite in depth into scams & what they're doing.

I wanted to make sure all Clan Leaders were aware of it so they can pass the relevant info on to senior members.

Around the middle of that page is a link to a podcast on youtube, which amongst other things early, later on extensively talks about current scams & what they are doing to combat them.

Very interesting & good to be informed.

I'll take a look at this, and ty for the share---I know that the article on common scams explains how the scams work, so you know how to be careful of them. For example, clockwork cats can't be dropped in areas that don't allow familiars, which I never would have known because one time I saw a massive pile of them on the floor at the Edgeville lodestone--meaning, I would have known that they were droppable, but sometimes undroppable.

I don't really want to give them credit, but these scammers are getting more crafty.

The latest one targeting us is scouting an Admin member with a name that you can easily change a letter for another or a number and then PM members asking them for items/ money, hoping they will be fooled into giving them some.

Here's a screenie of a recent attempt of this:
