Some frequently common questions that get asked with regards to assisting

Q Why is there no assist option?
A Both you and the other player need accept aid on. To turn it on, press escape, then go to Game Settings and make sure the Accept Aid option is ticked

Q How can I check how long I have until I can assist again?
A Go to the "Trade and assistance" chat tab (that's the one with 2 green people and 2 arrows). The report flag will have become an hourglass. Click on that to check how long you have left.

Q What monsters are best for effigies?
A The chance of a monster dropping an effigy is based on its combat level. The higher the level, the better a chance of an effigy. The God Wars dungeon bosses and the Queen Black Dragon have buffed chances of dropping effigies

Q Can I assist with another effigy if I've assisted with an effigy?
A Yes - you can assist either 1 gorged (97) effigy or 2 of any other effigy (the second of which may be gorged). You can receive up to 30,000 experience from assisting in a 24 hour period, but you can assist up to 59,999 experience in total. Any experience over the 30,000 is lost however.

Example of a vis wax combination for the Rune Goldberg Machine:

1st. Slot: STEAM (replace with MIND for 25/30)

2nd. Slot: Option A: MIST (replace with CHAOS for 26/30)
2nd. Slot: Option B: LAVA (replace with EARTH for 24/30)
2nd. Slot: Option C: BLOOD (replace with WATER for 22/30)

3rd. Slot: random rune for every player

you may also go to runescape.wikia and look up Rune_Goldberg_Machine for the true cost of each rune


It is recommended that you always replace combination runes and other expensive runes with cheaper elemental runes for higher profit. For example 80 vis wax with mind or chaos runes gives far greater profit than 100 vis wax with steam runes.
Therefore, aiming to get 100 vis wax is a very bad strategy and makes you lose a ton of gp.

Tam McGrubor (east of Burthorpe lodestone) gives out free Wicked Hoods which give you free unlimited teleports to the Rune Goldberg Machine in the rc guild. Making vis wax takes about one minute and generates 500k profit every day which is enough to pay for your membership.


Tips and Tricks:
* using combination runes or expensive higher tier runes gives you far less profit despite getting 100 vis wax.

* also never ever choose a rune that is indicated with a red smiley. In this case you might be better off not making vis wax at all and just buying it in Ge instead.

* using only air, water, earth, fire, mind and chaos runes will maximize your profit despite getting only 80-99 vis wax (up to 500k profit/day).

* this is a great way for ironman accounts to double their divine locations and reroll/double daily challenges.

Dear friends and clan mates,
the last 4 years Chrissie and me have run the clan Fast Effigy according to the classic rs clan model where 1 or 2 owners decide what happens in their clan and have the final word in all matters. Chrissie and me have never been very fond of that clan model and early on tried to involve our deputy owners and higher admins in all major decisions but now the time has come to take this one step further and implement a truly democratic clan model.

Basically, Chrissie and me are turning all of our awesome powers and authority over to the "Clan Council" which then acts like a sort of parliament that is in full control of the clan and makes all decisions. Owners, retired owners and deputy owners have an automatic and permanent seat in that council, similar to the 5 permanent members at the security council of the United Nations. In addition, all coordinators (gold star admins) have a seat there as well, as long as their rank is in good standing and they are considered active in the clan. Furthermore, every clan-member-of-the-month has a temporary seat for 30 days as well. Any member of this council can initiate a vote to invite lower clan members to the council on a temporary basis so we can all observe them to see if they demonstrate leadership qualities and have what it takes to become a coordinator (gold star admin) in the future.

This new 'Clan Council' will be regarded as the new 'owner' of the clan Fast Effigy and it will function according to the democratic principle that King Arthur called 'Roundtable' where the king was 'pares inter pares'.

Every member of this council has the right to suggest changing any clan rules, kicking/demoting or promoting any clan member or taking any action that is normally reserved for clan owners. Then this will be posted on our rs forumthread and our offsite zetaboards and every council member then gets to vote on it. Owners, retired owners and deputy owners have the right to veto any proposal before a final vote but once a decision has been made by the council then this counts as if the owners themselves had made that decision.

To sum it all up, there is no difference anymore between owners and deputy owners and both will still play a leading role in our clan but if they are not online or unreachable/afk then the coordinators (gold star admins) and other members of the clan council can take over and run the clan as they seem fit. This can be an emergency situation that requires immediate action while the owners/deputy owners are afk or in lobby or it could be a long-term project like a clan event that was initiated months ago and never finished.

Coordinators (gold star admins) from now on are considered back-up deputy owners of our clan and can step up and take care of any clan business that is usually reserved for clan owners. This is a privilege and not compulsory at all, they don't have to if they are uncomfortable with it or busy irl. Furthermore, any disrespect towards them will lead to getting kicked from the clan, whatever you say to or about them is the same as if you had said this to or about me and Chrissie.
