Some FAQ in our community

Why would I go to the pylon?

The pylon event grants extra xp, precision, improved chances of compass/tome and staff pieces
What do batteries do?

Batteries give you xp when handed in to the pylon. You can benefit from an active pylon even if you don't contribute batteries.
Is the pylon charged shared across worlds?

Yes, the pylon % will be the same on all worlds, therefore the pylon will activate on all worlds at the same time.
How long does the pylon last for?

30 minutes.

NEWS: Orthen Digsite announced for October 2020

Where can i quickly find material cache locations?

If you open the materials interface by right clicking on your archaeology journal, you can click on those materials in the list to find out where you could excavate those.

How can i stop material caches running out?

Use resourceful aura at caches so it has less chance of running out. Every little helps!

Are there any hidden goodies in Kharid-et?

Click on the ghost legionaries as you rise in archaeology level for one set of free materials from each. -

How can familiars help me?

Waterfiends are widely used to duplicate soil, material and artefacts (5% chance), but in some cases a Beast Of Burden can be better to use. For instance in the Preatorium (war room) in Kharid-et, it allows you to stay longer before you need to bank materials, and it is cheaper in some cases than a single sign of the porter!
If you are still not sure:
> Use a waterfiend familiar when you are excavating near a materials bank
> Use a beast of burden when you are further away, and don't want to use porters.

So dumb butt question
If I contribute to a pylon, if I miss an activation of a pylon have I effectively wasted those batteries?

If this is the case they need to be made bankable or storable elsewhere
I know what I want to do, but can rarely achieve it

Fun fact special - loot from 30 ancient caskets opened 7th June 2020

I collect batches of compasses so it is more efficient to locate and open all. I had to skip a week so ended up with 30!

Cost to make (mats) = 1.4m each, or 42.1m (5 colours x 30 x 30 each =4,500mats).

Caskets valued at 87m (average 2.8m per casket)
130 artifacts (note to self - nuke bank first next time i do this)
142 sets of 100 materials (i.e. 14,200 mats)
86 boosters
47 tomes
12 master, 18 elite clues
12 Carambola seeds
12 golden dragonfruit seeds
2 completed trisk and 6 trisk key parts
500 onyx dust
250 pouches
250 blue charms
14 god pages (becoming worthless)
40 crystal keys
40 rune salvage worth 40k gp each

Also it took around 120 minutes to make , power compasses and excavate the caskets, in two batches of 15. I had 4 locations with duplicate compass excavations.
