I guess this would be in a different category of problem. I am talking about improving log completion chance ONLY. I DO NOT want this to negatively impact the economy. A mode that would only let you complete the log (possibly not letting those items obtained be tradable) would not negatively impact anyone.

The thing is, though, it's going to impact the economy either way. Even if it's not tradeable, being guaranteed to get a rare drop after X number of kills is going to decrease the number of people buying them.

We know this from Zamorak: When people knew that they would eventually get Zamorak's drops after a set number of kills, it resulted in a lot of people vocally choosing to grind him themselves instead of buying the rare loot from other players. Did that result in fewer items being sold? Absolutely. But people were happy, and the amount of damage it did to the economy was seemingly negligible. Perhaps most importantly -- and I'll admit that this was only my experience -- I don't think I ever saw anyone who was farming Zammy to make money complain about the loss of potential profits that this caused. So why not rip this off like a bandage and go all the way?

I mean - as long as whatever you do, feels at least rewarding for the time invested, it really shouldn't be an issue.

Of course if certain content is not, due to never having been (mostly old bosses), drops having become out of fashion (like battlestaves or lots of seeds) or just were outright broken by accident (like old ore/bar drops) it might help if Jagex were to review the common loot tables to be meaningful for the levels a boss is intended to.

A bad luck protection might help, but it should only help to get uniques in general - not to be able to target a unique, that you want right now. Sole exception would be items you need to assemble from multiple parts - those should either drop in order (like telos orbs or eldritch crossbow) or be able to specifically targeted (like araxxor).

But I generally think you just should know what you're up to, when you're going to complete logs.

Yes and no... i think the grind is a healthy part of the game sure. But to a point. If a drop is 1/400 chance but you don't get it till 3000kc, it is overly punishing for that grind. If you can do 15 boss kills/hr, that's just an insulting amount of time wasted.

I respect the grind... but there's a point.
