It shows you how the puzzle should look on the left side so it isn't hard. Just get globetrotter backpack or use skip tickets if you can't do them. Might as well remove boss mechanics too haha. .

Well if you remove content to be made easier it becomes less gp/hr and removes sense of achievement and like I said you can use the globetrotter backpack from the clue shop if you wanna skip puzzle boxes. Or Just do easy and medium clues if you wanna avoid puzzle boxes.

What are there are ppl who like the puzzle boxes btw you might upset them?

I certainly think their number should at least be toned down from elites, since they're appearing ridiculously often to be fair. On hards they're actually fine, since they do not appear all the time - albeit it's more than crude, they do not even count as a clue step. For elites certainly worse, considering how common they are.

Entirely removing them is only an option if elites were to receive something else as a a replacement - since truth to be told, they do not have much meat on their bones to begin with. Which literally is the reason, why you're seeing this crap basically every other step. Masters do not push you towers into your face that often either for instance.

I mean one of the previous game jams came up with the solution they could let elites drop puzzle skips as well. It's totally obvious to them, that sliders are a problem - but the fix would be a bandaid at best. And considering it's a game jam project, it might never see the light of the day.

The best course of action probably really would be re-designing elites as a whole. If they're willing to undergo that is more than debatable - but it's obvious they're somehow different compared to any other tier - be it easy or be it master - they all are more than "go somewhere and dig".

Double doesn't hit it. Old sliders were optimally solveable within 40-ish steps. Now they start around 100 and can go up to 160 if you're unlucky. That certainly should be reverted as well, since it was done to acknowledge the existence of a certain third-party tool - and basically enforces using it now.
