Just like the crowns, LP are meant to be gained from having continuous membership just like how you can only obtain rc ingame from bonds.

But it locks out a lot of content from new players, and that's why Jagex has been thinking about reworking LP, or actually turning it into something else.
Would love it if loyalty was reworked for more sources.

How do new players get locked out?

Everyones treated the same when it comes to LP as you have to have continuous membership to get the rewards.

So how can ppl not have that? The only way is if you choose not to.

They are running fresh start worlds right now for new players to catch up. That's not even based on MTX.

I would definitely prefer an MTX based strategy to achieve the same goals. Part of that would be selling items from the loyalty shop.

The whole concept would feel a lot more honest than the new TH promos.

Agreed. I'd definitely pay runecoins for all these loyalty points items.

I think the bigger problem is possible riots. It seems like a good idea to me, letting people catch up for money. But 319 million others might disagree strongly. They should definitely want to poll this to check player attitudes.

I was looking for past updates on the wiki, at some point they tried the reverse of this idea, to give more power to the loyalty points to buy runecoin items. That update was later reverted.

Some players with long memories might still be unhappy about that, and then question why 10+ years is equal to a few dollars. Good public relations is also required for such a change I think. You can convince anyone of anything if you plan ahead and realize it is important to do so.

Almost missed this post. Would love this and would definitely spend some money on loyalty points. Loyalty is over a decade old and still surprised jagex never allowed players to spend money on loyalty or redeem game cards for.
