Okay, now this is an extremely radical and out there suggestion, but since Jagex is on the topic of improving the ironmen experience right now, I've got something to suggest.

Allow Ironmen to get all rewards from all minigames. Currently Ironmane have no reason to play a lot of minigames. There are a lot of people who play only Ironmen accounts. They may not even play a main to buy bonds for their ironmen. If they can't buy rewards for their ironmen, what reason do they have to actually play minigames. Jagex says nobody wants to play minigames, yet gives quite a significant portion of the playerbase, on Only RS3 mind you, every reason not to play them, and no real reason to play them. So yes, let ironmen buy all rewards from all minigame shops. Encourage more of the active playerbase to play minigames, and see what happens. See if it still stays as dead as it has up till now.

And while you are at it, add higher tiers of herb and ore packs to pest control. You haven't updated those since it's release. It's about time things there were brought more in line with the current state of the game.

Sure - I could perfectly imagine, that this will breathe some life into them for quite some time. It obviously will need more work to have then interesting permanently, but it's an easy option to extend the potential player base.

PCs mineral pack was updated with the m&s rework, it contained low quantities of iron and coal before. Some higher tiered pack wouldn't be a bad thing though.

In light of recent updates heavily reducing the solo-play side of Ironmen (Group Iron Dungeoneering, the bossing changes from this past week), I don't see why not; what's the point of locking them out of minigames if they're allowed to do other multiplayer content? And if nothing else, it'll make finding players for those minigames a little less difficult.

I agree.. they really missed out on a trick, with not making them playable (or rewarding) at the start. As usual, it's kind of "too late", now, due to many having moved past the rewards' usefulness, or obtained them through other means; even more rewards have also been made useless, or obsolete, since then, too.

If they'd done that, then there would have been less incentive to bring out Thaler, which killed off most Minigame's chances of sustaining longer lasting, participation-based communities (by making sure everyone got all the rewards they wanted, from all the Minigames, without ever having to try playing them - thus having no incentive to ever go back, an having never found one they might like to play even without rewards - cutting off established communities from any new players to replace natural attrition, and making many previous players quit, in despair, due to seeing this, and not being able to play, due to disruptive AFKers, during Spotlights [anyone who liked the content, but didn't know about the communities, never found them, as they turned up at spotlight - the one time actual players of the games avoided going).

If Minigames had had a boost in player numbers, from Ironmen, back then, and returning folk coming back/taking a break from the rest of the game, to try them out again, it would have tipped the balance over into making it worthwhile to address some of the issues with the Miningames, and perhaps brought out a few new updates, and better rewards.

Even if it only saved a few, it could have made a big difference in overall attitude towards Minigame content. As it was, it pretty much crushed the communities which had started to reform ( despite lack of any rewards ), after the EoC update (not bashing EoC-combat, just saying they never made sure Minigames retained a viable selection of rewards, which were mostly 0'd, by that).

Not to mention the grouping system, which would have worked better as a directory of FCs.
