(I got it on the 3rd day after the update, I think - hard to remember, as I do 48 hr days, so it doesn't match up with other peoples' days, it might have been the 2nd or 4th, as it was one of two of my days).

Exactly what I was doing: My level is (or was, whenever you read this) 101 (16.3m xp), and I was mining red sandstone near Ooglog for my daily flasks. The only enhancing item I was using was a perfect plus potion.
