I haven't been back very long. I was at the Deep Sea fishing hub. When I leveled up to 75 I received Bubbles. My first skilling pet. I didn't know it at first. I went to the bank to see how many fish I caught and there was.... Bubbles!!

I was wearing silverhawk boots. Just to confirm that drops from the boots are separate and have no effect on your chances while training.

Here is how I got all of mine and in the order I got them in

Pet - Obtained ~
10m
xp - Got killed in the wilderness while prayer training at the chaos altar for prayer pet
Archie

Pet -Obtained ~

xp - Got while training to 74 or 76 Arch to do Azzanadra for quest cape
Wallace

Pet - Obtained ~

xp -Got while training to 99 melee stats by afk killing Abyssal Demons

Pet - Obtained ~
8.5m
xp - Got while afk crystal harps for Christmas Wrapping Paper to try and get the Green Santa Hat when it was worth over 1b. (I didn't get it sadly)

Pet - Obtained ~

xp - Got while doing ed3 runs to help a friend level up their ranged so they could do a quest. (Ironically they got Flowy the fletching pet at 300k xp while training their fletching for some quests)
Shamini - Summoning Pet - Obtained at 14,115,637 xp - Got while trying to get summoning shard for combatants cape, the same run I got the shard I got the summoning pet.
Ghostly - Prayer Pet - Obtained at 16,630,529 xp - The pet I've been chasing for 18 months. Got it 10minutes after Shamini the Summoning pet while afking cleansing crystals. At that moment the people around me were talking about prayer pet drops, I was looking up biggest xp per tick gains, and I was training prayer on my second account.

What I've learned is that contrary to popular belief, getting a skilling pet is not based on xp gains, but on how ironic getting the pet would be. The more ironic the situation would be, the more likely you are to get it! 15 years of playing Runescape well worth it.
