This event needs to be repaired. Several times now, I have failed to reach the 70k threshold due to pyrefiends being so well hidden beneath the animations of other players. By the time I find one (by randomly moving the mouse until the text shows it) the pyrefiend is already dead or close to it.

Here are a few possible solutions:

1. Hide other players and their animations during the fight. Nobody wants to see other players while frantically attempting to kill the pyrefiends.

2. Hide animations, and place pyrefiends on tiles that players cannot step onto. This would allow players to remain visible, but would prevent pyrefiends from being blocked.

3. Allow players to finish up. If other players have reached the 70k threshold and sufficient pyrefiends have been killed for the event to complete, give those players their sack of very wild rewards and send them on their way while those who have not yet reached the 70k can continue until the full five minutes are used up.

4. Instead of having 100 pyrefiends, have four pyrefiends, but with more lifepoints to make up the difference. This way, they likely would not be dead before you have a chance to hit them.

5. Provide another viable way of obtaining dark onyx cores so that we can skip the event entirely. Lets face it: getting up in the middle of the night over and over to try to get a stupid core that does not even seem to exist is by no means healthy.

A lot of people try to downplay this problem, but the reality is when you can't see the NPC's they are often low HP by the time you do find them. Even with target cycling.

So your huge attack might only hit 500. It's confusing to even realize the monster you found is already gone, wasting more time.

I like the idea of having a couple larger spawns that are maybe big enough to remain visible AND have a higher portion of the hitpoints.

I also don't understand why the spawns are so limited in range. Why can't a few of them be a little further out?

I always limit my own contribution once I reach the goal in that specific event and try to stay out of the way and hopefully that helps someone.

1/2 - Use target cycle and/or look for an emptier world.

3 - Agreed

4 - That certainly would be an improvement for combat events in general.

5 - They just should bring the drop rates to reasonable levels (it's something between 1/1k and 1/2k right now, so it should be 1/200, maybe 1/100). Something went really wrong, when a drop basically everybody can obtain is as expensive as it is two months after the content was released. Afaik they're not intended to be hero items, so they obviously shouldn't be hero item rare. That also will help with players berserking like insane, so they would be able to loot twice or even thrice.
Improvements: Tooltip / (F2P) QoL v2
Quick Fixes: Invention

No need to hide any player and animations as the only interactable objects in the pyrefiend phase are the pyrefiends. If you still can't find anybody to attack, perhaps you are just lagging or other players have reacted faster and killed them before you.

Either case, try to do that event in a less laggy and/or less populated world, especially if you are a lower combat player.

Actually, the last time I played it the pyrefiends were often covered up by other monsters, such as abyssal lords, onyx dragons, etc. Also, it seemed that whenever I found a pyrefiend to click on, it was already dead, but was still clickable.

As for the second part, there was no discernible lag, aside from the difference in the speed of different weapons, and I am a fully maxed player. When a maxed player, using a decent weapon, cannot complete the event despite giving it full attention, that speaks to the necessity of repairing the event.

Support. Pyrefiends need to have their size massively increased, have them unable to be walked on, and have familiars near them move themselves so they don't overlap the pyrefiends squares. Regarding dark onyx core, add them to sack of wild rewards, the regular one not the very wild ones. This will increase their supply quite a bit. There's 0 reason why such a useful upgrade should be this rare and expensive 3 months later.

- Support! Target cycling has been mentioned numerous times, on forums and in-game. However, target cycling is not available on mobile. If you haven't tried on mobile, go see this cancer. It's absolutely impossible to see sh**!! Let alone click on anything. Expanding the event area can greatly help spread the players, thus hopefully seeing through all the animations.
