Wait, there going to remove yak coins? i know its not so much of a "seasonal" event but its litterally a 2-3X event every year

Not to mention we still have artisan patches in currency pouch lol

The Travelling Artisan event is an on-demand only one, not the fixture recurring events like Yak Tracks that happen once every four months regularly.

Don't you mean the yak track happen 4x a year instead of every four months? ;)

It is just a common practice for Jagex to remove EVENT currencies in many of their non-seasonal EVENTS in their games.

No its not.
If that was a true statement than they should remove the yak skips at the end of each yak track. Its an " currency" as much as the yak coins are.

Jagex removing the Yak coins is just their way of making money on the next one. It has nothing to do about it being "common practice" as you say.

Yak Tracks come 4 times a year, but the context is still absolutely the same. It is a regular scheduled event.

Having Season Pass regular events with skips are very common practice in the game industry.

its pretty simple, people keep asking jagex to stop adding currencies but jagex wants to make money.
in order to make both parties "happy" jagex is removing currency after the event ends thus freeing space up and also making a way for jagex to make more money.
pssst....we know who you are. Hail Sithis!

Right! Yak Track is actually the Season Pass monetization method a lot of AAA games embrace now. RS3 players and Jagex made one for them. What makes it even better is other games' "Yak Track" cost real money to play the RS3 Yak Tracks come free with Gold Premier Club subscription.

As with other games' Season Pass, the in-event currency doesn't carry over to a new season.

I'm extremely disappointed by this decision to remove the yak coins.
I'm generally really good at checking and making sure I know what updates consist of as well as various conditions but I do not recall seeing in the original news post that these would be removed and a few others I've spoken to also have told me the same.
I never spent any of mine as I was looking at doing it after the event and I spent a lot of extra time playing just to earn them!
Can we PLEASE have all unspent yak coins returned when the next track comes out?
These should be treated the same as all other recurring event currencies [eg h'oddments] and yak skips.

The game had a warning message every time you logged in warning you that the coins would soon be removed. I hope everyone here was able to spend their last coins before they were removed. If yak coins comes back next track then they will be removed like they were with the previous yak track.

What does the corporate boot taste like down there? Is it leathery or more metally like?

95% of those other AAA games are free to play, or one time purchases, no subscription fee on top of 5 other MTX methods to reel the whales in. Maybe you dont remember, but when Yak track was only a plan on paper, jagex said that if/when they add their own battle pass to rs, there would be decline in other MTX promotions...well that was !&%# lie lmao! They have done completely opposite by releasing pretty regulary new FOMO events that drive the bond prices up and directly make buying game gold more lucrative than ever.

I also know from first hand experience that atleast 3 f2p games with healthy sized playerbase actually give their equilevant of battle pass for free if you get to certain level. So if you play enough in the time period you only pay money once for the initial pass. Jagex wouldnt do that in a thousand years.

They are removing Yak coins simply to boost sales of skip tokens when new yak track starts. Cant use coins of past event...it had nothing you want to buy? Tough luck, you cant use those coins on a yak track that has something you want unless you grind again or pay to skip. Disgusting.

I did the full Yak Track. And play and read, until the past few weeks, a LOT. And I never saw any mention of the coins being removed after the event. Now, after a short break, I log back in and one of the messages is that my Yak Coins are removed. And I didn't even spend any of them.

I'm getting fed up with this randomness. My currency tab has plenty that can't currently be used but aren't removed.

Seriously tired of all of this.

So what? Why cant you simply support them carrying over if it will make players happy?
