In the ninja survey it sounds like there are some future updates which might get us closer to this.
Adding ge price in search & I can't remember what the other bit was.

But ye I can't get past the point that this information already exists, it's already being stored, why not make it visible?

Is there reasons?

If I'm recalling correctly, it seemed like the other bit was they were going to give us the buy/sell limits on items, right on GE interface. So that is a win too, imo. Having to look up how many of item X I can actually buy in 4 hours has always irritated me. It also gives an advantage to those who solely play for the GE -- they know those lists for the items they merch like the back of their hand.

While the timing information is there, it's in the background. Making it accessible and useful to us requires coding it into the GUI, which I'm no expert, but it may not be as small a task as it sounds -- accessing it where it sits in the code currently, coming up with a suitable GUI format that "fits", and then looping that information into the GUI without breaking things.

The one and only reason I'd be hesitant about this change is that whenever they've broken anything in the GE the outcry has been huuuge.

But maybe, if they're willing to do this (and I don't see why they wouldn't be), they'll be able to approach it stepwise.

No support.

See, Jinx, that's just the problem right now: all the advantages accrue to those who spend their RS life merching. And yeah, I know those types exist.

The rest of us who actually spend the time playing the game have to sit and guess and try to work out how much we're going to buy and when. Like, "How many bows can I buy today, and when can I get my offers in, to disassemble so I can continue making progress in Invention?"

Having this change helps all of us. Not just merchers.

And, full disclosure. I have never merched, or flipped.

people who think bad about merchants are stupid.
merchants can be helpful to everybody. they buy when others dont buy. they sell when others dont sell. they help to keep the economy alive.
yes they get profit by buying low and selling high (sometimes they make loss when they expect wrong). but this profit is fair because with their service they enable other people who are lazy and impatient to get their transaction finished quickly.
nobody is forced to accept the price of a merchant. it is only an option to agree with his trade.
the only problem are scammers who make unfair deals, price manipulation or just telling lies to the other player. that is the reason why you should be careful with direct trade with persons and prefer trade using the GE-NPC.
and this is reason why we really need a solution for maxed cash. because rare partyhats cannot be traded successfully in the GE, because street price is very much higher than the maxed cash limit

I wrote this suggestion specifically because I don't merch. I don't have this info memorized and often have to take time to look up where to look it up.
There are so many skills in this game that require you purchase mass quantities of a particular item and there are increasingly better ways to use up those items.

Say, for example, I decide I want to go from level 119 to 120 smithing. By my quick calculations I'm going to need to buy somewhere around 138k rune bars. So I put in for a GE purchase for that amount and go to bed for the night. I check the next day and have 10k bought. Why? Did I reach a limit? Is my offer too low? I raise my price, nothing happens.. Did I just buy the 10k and that's why or did it happen hours ago?

The answer is out there. The game knows...

This has nothing to do with merching. Just having information to play the game, enjoying myself in doing so, and making good choices.
