I don't know about many others, but I have noticed there always seems to be a serious amount of leechers at wildy events. Any time I've seen someone say something to them about helping out, the usual response is "why? there's no penalty system."

I'm not saying there should be a penalty system in place, per say. But one thing I think would be helpful would be to increase the number of rewards for those who participate more in the events.

For example, if my "personal goal" to get rewards at butterfly event is 10, and I turn in 20 or 30 butterflies, then I think I should receive 2x or 3x the reward. Same thing if my goal is to do 70k damage to KBD and I do 140k or even 210k damage. I should receive 2-3x the rewards.

I think this would help prevent people from leeching as much and would encourage events to go faster and also improve odds of receiving the core as a drop as it appears to be extremely rare at the moment.

The issue is - technically they've fulfilled their quota - that you'll need to do more than that is granted the fact, that if the team quota actually was personal quota times participants somebody would miss out if another one would do just a bit more than demanded from him (that's why you would have to do double when you're alone and a bit less for everyone joining in - but always more than just your quota). Rewarding players to contribute like insane will also be an issue for weaker players - or just ones coming in a bit late. Nobody will take regard for them, since it would diminish their own regard, no matter what.

I can see a solution though - events run for their full five minutes, team contribution will cease to exist and as soon as you've hit your personal quota you can go. Of course leaves the question what to do with multi staged things, but it perfectly would work for all regular events.

Here's the thing, though; there are many players who intentionally stop once they've reached their quota so that other people have time to reach theirs before the event is completed . That type of kindness shouldn't be discouraged because of a few bad eggs.

I'm inclined to agree with Rikornak; doing away with team contribution and making the non-multi-stage tasks only track your personal performance is probably the way to go. It's not like these events require any real co-operation anyway, and it would make it easier for weaker/late players to stand a chance.

I understand what y’all mean with the events that require damage. Even though I still don’t fully agree, but in that event you could probably have personal damage scale lower for lower level players to make their quota easier.

But I am going to completely disagree with y’all when it comes to being late to the event. Everyone by now knows that the events start at the first of every hour, and you get a 5 minute reminder prior to the event. If you’re late to the event, that’s on you. It’s happened to me plenty. Does it suck? Yes. Was it anyone’s fault but my own? Nope.

All of the events that do not require combat progress just as fast for all players regardless of level. I don’t harvest plants faster, gather the divine energy, mine the outcrops faster for having a higher farming, divination, or mining level. I still get one ore per swing regardless of level or pickaxe. If having the T90 earth and song pick and having 99 mining gained you more ores per swing, I could maybe understand more. But that hasn’t been the case for me.

Even if you still want to argue that lower level players would have a harder time with special events that can drop the core because of damage output, there’s still the evil tree event. 3 stages and no combat damage is needed. But yet I’ve seen players of all levels get to the part where you have to continue gathering kindling and stop once they’ve hit their quota leaving everyone else to pick up their slack. So again, I believe the rest of us picking up the slack should be rewarded better to encourage them to not slack off to begin with.
