With yesterday's (18/08/2023) - Necromancy: Community Feedback Update - #2 - something stirred up in me again. In the next update the ice nihil familiar would be reassigned the necromancy skill, instead of its current magic characteristic.

We all are pretty used to the combat triangle and its commonly assigned colorscheme.
- melee (red)
- ranged (green)
- magic (blue)

This colorscheme can be seen in various item: the combat triangle abilities, prayer icons, lesser demon executioners (familiar).

The nihil familiars/monsters go by the following:
-blood nihil (red): melee
- ice nihil (blue/white): magic
- shadiow (purple): ranged
- smoke nihil (green/yellow): magic

With the upcoming update of the ice nihil takding the place of the necromancy side, this will get more confusing in my opinion. Therefore I'd suggest we reassign them to a better fitting position:

- blood nihil (red): melee
- ice nihil (blue/white): magic (keep it)
- shadow (purple): necromancy (new)
- smoke nihil (green/yellow): ranged (switched)

This would streamline them with the combat triangle+necromancy concept.

The nihils go by the same elements as the ancient codex abilities go.

Blood Tendrils = Melee = Blood Nihil
Shadow Tendrils = Ranged = Shadow Nihil
Smoke Tendrils = Magic = Smoke Nihil

Ice doesn't have a tendril ability (for now?), but rather that constitution ultimate, which has led to their weird duplication of having two nihil familiars for magic in the first place. Obviously it may confuse some players who got used to using the ice one for magic. But let's be real - changing two or more to have them correctly colour coded will confuse more players - especially when things are like that for almost a decade now. And yeah obviously - the ancient elements do not have anything to do with the combat colours - I highly doubt necromancy in that form was even imaginable when either tendrils or nihils were concepted. It just made sense to change some weird duplication in here to something unique.

And yeah - it certainly isn't the only thing in the game not correctly colour coded for the combat triangle/quadrangle. Take a look at the spirit shields alone - while they've changed the purple one to necromancy (which also was a duplicated magic one), the magic one is yellow, the melee one is green and the ranged one is blue. Dig deeper and you'll find other examples.
