I dont know where i'm supposed to post this, so hopefully you see @mod desert.

I love all the changes you are going to be looking at! if I could add one more suggestion though. In the fights current condition, specifically in public lobbies, it is an extremely competitive ranking system, everyone wants to do something first, so they get more points. I think there are two things you could look at to improve the experience.

1. when the middle fungus spawns, have the sticky fungus spawn either a couple seconds before, or directly after. this would give everyone an equal opportunity to actual "remove" the fungus. Currently it can easily be missed if you're not placed perfectly or are running back to mid because someone messed up and you get stuck on the way.

2. The second one is mostly just to address the problem with trolls. I think public lobbies would be so much more friendly, if you could not pray until the fungus at mid has been dealt with. I think it is safe to say, that everyone killing croesus for reasons other than ruining people's day, want to wait to do this first fungus.. for points. if you made it impossible to pray early there would be less problems and toxicity in public lobbies. The state they are in right now is borderline unplayable.

So issue one I think is fine as it is if u miss mid that's ur fault wether it be because ur late getting there or forget about it (which I've done plenty of times doing 4 man groups or even public ones) it always spawns at the same time so there's no reason to miss it if u know it's coming easiest way I remember it's coming is that it's 2 mechanics after the blue spore cloud lands or after the stun mechanic hits after blue spore cloud there's plenty of time to burn off sticky spores if u get stuck just carry protein logs or torch or even timber from the wc plot works if ur in a pinch

Issue two idk what u expect from a public lobby if u don't want a cancer group do a 4 man or 8 man run u can use the croesus fc to find teams super easy or find people outside the encounter in w84 making it to were u can't pray till mid I think is annoying some people don't care about points and want to speed run it y should they be punished for bad public encounters?

Frankly trolls will find a way to troll regardless unfortunately

I would recommend you this thread . Especially brainlessly preventing praying at all is a dumb idea, since there are obvious applications, in which an early prayer can save the fight.

The first idea sounds really good though.

How do trolls not find a way to troll at the skilling bosses in OS - could it possibly be, they had been designed in a way, in which you can't sabotage the fight as an individual?

Public has its perfect justification to be there in order for you to be able learn the fight in the first place or to quickly do a reaper task. And with a couple of adjustments it easily would be possible to prevent some malicious degenerates to sabotage this. Of course it can't be entirely prevented, without having to change the fight in its essence - but is it really needed to be that easy for them?

I really like Croesus, but it's obvious it still needs a lot of work not to be just good, but really become great. Not just the sake of now, also in order to keep it alive in 5 years or so. Flawed content can deteriorate just so quickly and it would be sad if the first skilling boss would eventually meet the same fate as lots of minigames before it. Improvements: Tooltip / (F2P) QoL v2

I doubt croesus will be dead content in 5 years unless they come out with better mage tank armour or nerf cryptbloom to nothing which may happen who knows but as it is right now it's not going anywhere and no one said u have to exclusively do public encounters while it may be quicker for reaper tasks and learning after u learn it do 4 mans for better chances at drops and less likelyhood of trolls

Minigames died out frankly because people became grind oriented there's no good xp in minigames anymore the rewards are garbage and imo eoc is what killed most minigames combat wise at least Idk if osrs is still fairly active for castle wars but it'd be a lot more fun with the old combat style if u ask me

Mediocre to poor (sometimes the stuff just was crap in the first place, in others it eventually went out of fashion) rewards are one aspect of what went awry with minigames in the past. There are other aspects as well, but the one important as well in here are the obvious flaws you already can see by glancing on its gameplay alone - or the latest by engaging with it on an extremely low level.

Croesus is by no definition broken - but you can already now see the issues it has, that's obviously not just some slight flaws - and that is what eventually could break it. And there is nothing wrong asking NOW to have those flaws fixed. Not at some point players have given it up, just because they can get comparable or better rewards in other places at a potentially more polished activity, since Jagex certainly won't do something for content almost nobody cares about anymore - and that's entirely justified, since it obviously can't even be ensured, that this will revive the piece of content in question... Improvements: Tooltip / (F2P) QoL v2

I said before rewards can get out of fashion - that can happen more quickly than you might imagine. And 5 years are a long time... just take a look at how the meta has shifted since the end of the last decade, which is a bit more than half that time. Sure sometimes things will have a second (or even a third, fourth or fifth) spring, but this is not OS, in which your items will remain relevant for all eternity - and if it's just them being upgrade fodder in order to use new things in the first place.

That said also in OS you can't play everything at all times. Combat system may have its part when it comes to RS3, but that's also just one more aspect and certainly no explanation for non-combat minigames. But that makes a small and open community for those things more important - the more there are and the better the gameplay is the more likely it becomes that fresh meat is willing to give it a shot.

This here just isn't the first thread (or take similiar posts on reddit), it won't be the last. They spawn in that number, since players still care about otherwise grandious content - they just want to see that insane trolling potential fixed. If you stick around exclusively in 4 man groups - that's totally fine - but others just don't - or maybe they'll do a mix. That all are legitimate ways to play this content - otherwise Jagex wouldn't have provided a public instance in the first place .

I think Nex was the last boss with one after all. Nothing else in the following 10 years had had something like that. Just Croesus otherwise - and if they took inspiration from OS - just to be able to jump in is part of the appeal of skilling bosses. And that usually works well enough - just not when somebody thinks they need to destroy that instance for some ego boost or something like that. Improvements: Tooltip / (F2P) QoL v2
