The good news is no more annoying threats will be spawned to bother us while we are skilling, killing or doing flash events. This should increase our xp rate and loot.
The "bad" news is there are also some changes to the rewards of a few activities. The noticeable one is the more popular wildy slayer tasks will net us somewhat less rewards. However, because we don't have to deal with random spawns, we may actually be spending our time more effectively and getting more more kills/hr. So I am not sure about this one. Have to play more on my lowbie alt to find out if this is good or bad.
RS3 Jmods said players don't kile the threat system so they removed it. The threat system didn't bother me as much though except in certain places like Chaos Elemental. What do you think?
lava worms less profitable due to being more safe, but more worth doing especially when random mobs near them have been moved around. Don't care about wildy task nerf when I don't do them. Great to see them delete cursed energy now there's no chance of being pked at a flash event.
Haven’t been able get on to try anything out - but I’m very pleasantly surprised in some areas and slightly disappointed in others, from what I’ve read so far.
1. I like that Jagex closed common luring loopholes (cursed being removed, Warbands requiring a skull to be interacted with.) WITHOUT removing the element of risk vs reward that things like the Demonic Skull and Warbands are supposed to have. While it’s sad that those activities and items are now the only thing that remains from the Wilderness as it should be - I was expecting those to be inherently damaged somehow.
2. Hopefully Chaos Elly can’t just drop me into a pack of abyssal savages anymore. Haven’t seen yet.
3. The nerf to AFK Thieving at the Rogues’ Castle safes was a tad overzealous. Even with the threat system that wasn’t a dangerous activity at all.
4. I think I’ve seen somewhere where Ash Lords and Berserkers were still really good, but pretty much every other Slayer task in the Wilderness has been rendered dead content. Would love to hear your findings, Dilbert.
5. I think Wilderness Slayer should be retooled to encourage slaying with PvP enabled in light of this outright remove of threats otherwise.

Neutral on this master maxed character, but I have tried it on my lower level toons, it is actually very good news, especially in the upper mid to north side of Wildy. That part of wildy used to be a very dangerous zone for slayers because of the sheer number of higher level mobs. Besides, lower level players don't have to run away from randomly spawned mobs beyond their slayer levels.

I liked the old system with the ghosts roaming the wild land, pretty cool...
that made me quit for a long time. players i could deal with, stay in single combat and stay in combat. revs? nah they said screw the rules and could attack when you couldnt fight back! they were the worst way to deal with the issues the wild had back then.

I am ok with no rewards actually. If there is no threat at all in the wilderness, it is just like any other place, so why should there be any rewards for doing things there?
