I really like the idea of having different ring slots. On slayer tasks I end up wearing a ring of wealth or a zerker ring, then I usually have the explorer ring and ring of slaying in my inventory. It's too much sometimes.

More than 2 would be pushing it, but yeah. The fact that some geniuses were laughed at does not imply that all who are laughed at are geniuses. They laughed at Columbus, Fulton, and the Wright brothers. But they also laughed at Bozo the Clown.

My own personal bias is that it was bad enough to release offhand weapons as an easy/lazy way to add dual wielding. I feel the same way with rings, but putting that bias aside, it's a clearer way to articulate how wearing a second ring slot could work.

And even though I don't see a big issue with an extra 3% crit at most from a second combat ring, if it is a concern for some people, creating weaker offhand versions of those rings would probably satisfy them. The fact that some geniuses were laughed at does not imply that all who are laughed at are geniuses. They laughed at Columbus, Fulton, and the Wright brothers. But they also laughed at Bozo the Clown.
