white portal was ffa and always had 50-100 people fighting in there. purple portal was clan vs clan fights which is what i mainly did. i and most people i played with were max combat.
usually i led teams of 5-20 max combat players. but would also often do wars with anyone welcome and we would have fights that were 100 vs 100 Old School

anyway more to your point yes f2p is great. i only played f2p for my first 7 years of rs. and i used to enjoy going back to f2p worlds. all the membership exclusive stuff has never been necessary to enjoy the game Old School

clan wars always seemed too cool for me lol. think I only went once or twice on release, which was during one of my varrock&chill phases. it sounded so fun but I always struggled to find a clan. idk if this was before clans were officially implemented ingame or just when you’d have to browse the forums or have.. friends.. *shudders* either way it’s really interesting to hear your experience. sounds more exciting than my days hiding my dot on the mini map wearing the egg ring in the fight pits :P

being a member doesn’t mean you can’t log into f2p. think 2015 was when I last properly played, used to visit free worlds p frequently to chill/ do clan events with some of my clan mates & maybe do some combat or firemaking at the ge whilst talking to other players, so had a pretty good gist of the f2p lifestyle

didn’t say there wasn’t an f2p player base in general, only in regards to mini games and other ex member perks they’ve been given, which is also the case for members (I keep typing meme bers lol)

idk what your issue with gold prem is, you always seem so spiteful towards it. I like buying membership in bulk/ up front whilst somewhat financially stable as I’ve been ill before and had my memebership continue billing me without really being in a position to do so. there’s also a slight discount, I don’t buy it for status or whatever

being passionate about f2p is great, but when you then start shitting on membership and saying how much more skill is required in comparison then, well, what differentiates you to that of an elitist? I’m probably reading into this wrong lol, but I don’t appreciate the passive aggressive vibe. f2p is hella cool&membership is just the same game, with a lil extra stuff. we all bleed the same respawn in the same location(s)
