A mysterious figure entered the fray. On the outside he appeared to be a normal human man, but to anyone who knew him, they would know he is anything but. He was worn from his many years of wandering, his once jet black hair a pale grey, and his clothes tattered and worn. He walked ahead, His deep, piercing blue eyes scanning the area around him. Nothing about this place felt familiar to him, but he knows that this is the right place, after so any years of aimlessly wandering every conceivable reality. He stopped at a large flight of steps leading up a hill. He did not recognise these steps; perhaps Magery put them in while he was away, that would seem like him.
"only /he/ would make coming back a pain"
he chuckled to himself, proceeding onward.
He began to feel, as he took his first steps, some kind of sinking feeling, as if there was some kind of disturbance. He quickly brushed this off and proceeded; The further he ascended, the stronger the feeling became.
He reached the final step, only to be greeted not by a pair of arrogant mages asking him where he'd been all this time, or some strange piece of technology scanning him for information, led by its Master, but by four large monoliths, each entitled with the names of his friends. He didnt want to believe it; that beings more powerful than gods could have perished. How? Why? so many questions entered his mind.
He sighed deeply, pushing his black cavalier out of his face. He knew he had lost a lot when he was torn from this world, but never had the feeling of loss struck him so deep.
"only fitting, I suppose; I existed long before them, and i'll exist long after them"
He sat down. He had nothing now; no purpose, no hope, nothing left to fight for. All was lost. His will to fight had died long ago, he imagined, much like the people he's with now, for the monoliths looked ancient.
He looked around one last time, and saw nothing. That was what the beautiful world he once knew was now; Nothing.
