'Ok,' Taena thought calmingly to herself, 'don't panic, you knew he couldn't survive much longer; don't scream, don't do anything stupid.'
A loud, panicked scream rent the peaceful morning air.
Another scream and a startled yell followed, as Teegan and Sukrae woke suddenly up in the belief that the world was exploding, or at the very least a large army was attacking.
After more screams, yells, and thrashing about, a rather pitiful attempt to calm things down was made by Taena. "Calm down!" she yelled, "It's only a dead body!"
"Not Sukrae!" screamed Teegan.
"Not Teegan!" yelled Sukrae.
"It's not either one of you!" yelled Taena, "It's Keppon!" Everything calmed down.
Five minutes later, Teegan poked her head out of the shelter. "Can you move him so I can get out?" she asked, surveying the scene. Taena looked at her, she did have a point.
Taena unwillingly took hold of the corpse's clammy wrists and pulled it away from the door, its heels making dark lines in the sparkling, dewy grass. She dropped the body, and wiped her hands on the wet ground, cleaning away the cold, dead feeling that the remains had given her.
Meanwhile, Teegan had crawled out and was seated on a large rock, thinking quietly to herself.
Sukrae stuck his head out, blinking his eyes in the morning light. "What do we do now?" he asked, stating the question that was bothering all of them.
"Well, first we need to bury Keppon," Taena answered, her mind clear again.
"It's going to take awhile, I don't think I'm strong enough to dig, and Teegan isn't either."
"We'll think of something," said Taena, trying to. "I'm going to go for a walk, and try to puzzle things out."
She left, heading over towards the cave that they had come from.
