Hi!
This thread is a re-creation of my original blog "The Blundering Adventurer", that began in the General forum and was later moved to the Goals and Achievements forum. That thread reached a total post count of 2002 on March 6, 2012. I didn't want to lose all that work I had put into it, so I have transferred my posts onto this thread.
Because this is a recreation, some posts may reference posts made by other players that don't seem to be there; that's because the posts were on the original thread, not this one.
Are you ready? This is one big story, and I hope you're prepared! This story chronicles my Runescape experience through the course of about one year. A lot changed in that year, and it makes for a great read! You don't have to read it all at once of course; It's in a journal format, so you can always read one entry per day if you wish!
Read on if you'd like to find out how I gained 400 levels, two 99s, a 500m bank, met legends such as Zezima, S U O M I and more!

It was a cold November day in 2006 when Grimwold2 was born. He opened his eyes to the new sights of Runescape. He was on Tutorial Island.
I began this character close to 2006-2007, upon a friend telling me about the game. He was a much higher level than myself of course, and he showed me through the game. Tutorial Island gave me some hardships: I spent forever trying to figure out why I couldn't kill rats with Ranged, only to finally discover that you had to equip the arrows.
When I arrived in Lumbridge, I was lost. There was no World map, no Grand Exchange, no trade limit, Wilderness was Pkers only. I immediately began looking around Lumbridge, and wandered into the Lumbridge Swamp, where I was promptly viciously killed by a level 6 Rat. My friend told me that I should watch out for the holiday events, such as the easter one, where eggs spontaneously appeared. I didn't listen to him.
I ventured out further, almost dying from the level 26 Jail Guards. Over the months, I eventually began to get the hang of Runescape. I trained every skill, and began to quite enjoy Mining. I trained Mining from about level 4-70 solidly, and then began to train other skills. Years later, when I became level 87 or so, I decided to get Members. What a difference! I began training many skills, and took a break from Mining. I got Magic up, Slayer, etc. But the longing for Mining was still there. I trained Dungeoneering as soon as it was released to gain access to the Bonus Dungeon with the Coal and Mithril.
This is where I began avidly Foruming. I would mine a coal, type a bit, mine a coal, type a bit. Finally, I achieved level 77 Mining. I was ready to go to the Living Rock Caverns. I asked around, and got the name of a good Clan. The clan is Mining Golds. I have stuck with this clan ever since. I mined for a long time, and got to level 92. I decided I had had enough of Mining, and went out to train my other skills.

I was still strapped for cash, so I decided to try Merching for the zillionth time. This was right after Free Trade had come back, so I thought maybe miraculously I might manage to pull off a profit. I tried it... and it worked! I was so happy, I merched all of my 5m into 15m. I decided it was time to get a 99. This was a 4 year old account, and it was getting a little laughable not having a 99. So what was the fastest 99? Fletching of course. I trained it very hard, and finally, on March 5th, 2011, I got 99 Fletching.
I wanted to trim that right away with a skill that everyone respected. I decided on Runecrafting. I ground that skill into the dust, and eventually got 82 Runecrafting. I was tired from this, so I decided to take a break and maybe try and get some money. I eventually just stopped trying to get money and have fun with the game. This is where I am with the present.
My starting levels:
Attack: 80---------Constitution: 79
Mining: 92----------Strength: 87
Agility: 51---------Smithing: 80
Defence: 80---------Herblore: 46
Fishing: 64----------Ranged: 64
Thieving: 67--------Cooking: 80
Prayer: 52----------Crafting: 69
Firemaking: 66------Magic: 75
Fletching: 99-------Woodcutting: 80
Runecrafting: 82----Slayer: 66
Farming: 40---------Construction: 46
Hunter: 68----------Summoning: 52
Dungeoneering: 55---TOTAL LEVEL: 1693
Combat Level: 101
Estimated Bank Value: ~20m
My least favourite skill is Ranged, and my favourite skill is... I'm honestly not sure. I enjoy just about all of them.

Today, I am training Slayer. I had a task of killing 140 Greater Demons; I have Duradel as my Master. The wild dogs are very annoying, as they keep attacking me, preventing me from attacking the Demons. Finally, they became unagressive... Right when another player came and set up a cannon right at my spot. Real nice. So I moved and had to start killing the wild dogs all over again. Eventually, one of the Demons dropped a Clue Scroll (Hard). I attempted it, and finished the first clue. Alas, the second clue is within the elven lands, a place I have yet to unlock. So I went back to Duradel, and got my Task. 63 Black Dragons. I can't believe it. I have gotten so many dragon tasks, that I want to perform a Saradomin Sword Special Attack on Duradel and kill him. I hate dragons so much... But on the bright side, I unlocked the Slayer Helm today!
I decided that I really did not feel like killing Black Dragons, so I went on to Daemonheim to test my strength and my wit. I solo almost all the time, and so bosses are quite difficult for me to kill. One stupidly hard boss was the Hobgoblin Geomancer. It used its spells to prevent me from praying, then it would teleport away from me, dealing massive damage. I must have died 6+ times on it. I seemed to not be able to hit him though. I would hit maybe 1/25. Not fun... But on the bright side, I got 72 Strength through the process! As I ventured my way deeper into Daemonheim, I decided that I was getting tired of dying constantly. Maybe it is better to Dungeoneer with a group.
And so I chose to go and kill Black Dragons. For once in a lifetime, no one was there! One guy did come later, but he wasn't praying and didn't have good defence and he almost died He left pretty fast. Well I'm off for today. I've got 58 more Black Dragons to kill.
Good night! :D

Today I finished off a load of Black Dragons, and decided to do the quest needed for my Hard Clue Scroll. Regicide. It was a huge pain, and I'll explain why. Firstly, you had to go through the Underground Pass multiple times, and this takes quite a while. Next. the forest was quite a maze, and was full of traps. You needed an Agility level of 56 to get through some of them, so I was using Summer Pies to boost my level... Only I didn't bring enough.
So I had to teleport out, get more, and start all over again! It was truly an experience I would not like to repeat. The frustration mixed with exhaustion... Horrible. It took me around three hours to complete! But, finally I finished it. I now have access to the overpass, so I'll never have to go through the Underground Pass ever again. I also got 52 Agility out of it!
Well that's it for me today, good night all!

I finished off my Hard Clue Scroll today. I got some Blood Runes, Law Runes, a Rune Longsword, and... An Ancient Page (2). Pretty good result, sold the page for 775k.
After that, I went to Aubury's and did some pro bot hunting. I caught 20+ bots there! I won't go in depth of how I caught them, but it was quite effective.
After that, I decided to go and finish off my Black Dragon task. I went to the two in Taverly, and nothing exciting happened... The usual cannon noobs, mean people, people who brag about their Ranged level... You know, the usual. That is, until I hopped worlds and came across the best dragon killer I've ever seen. His name was "Labas Utak", and he was absolutely amazing. He 4 hit KO'ed a Black Dragon, repeatedly hitting into the 500's. He was amazing... He could kill around 6 by the time it took me to kill one. Oh, and while killing the dragons, I got a Ranged level! I'm now level 64! Anyways, I made a new friend. Labas Utak added me!
I finished my task and went to Duradel for a new task... And guess what I got. More stupid dragons!! I have to kill 77 Steel Dragons. I don't know why Duradel hates me so much; I never did anything to him.

I started the day by working on killing some Steel Dragons. It was really hard though because all the Iron Dragons kept attacking me. So I stopped after a while, banked my bones, and permanently cancelled Steel Dragons. No more of them!
I went back to Duradel and got a new task. Waterfiends. I asked my clan if I should cancel them as well, and they said that I should... So there went that task. I was pretty much out of Slayer points, so I thought I had better not get more dragons.
Thankfully, I got 188 Kalphites. Easy. I went to the hive, and me and another player worked together and killed them very quickly. I wasn't even paying attention to my experience, and to my surprise, I gained 67 Slayer!
I went back to Duradel, and got a new task. Hellhounds. I asked my clan about these, and they said they are very accurate. So, with this in mind, I brought some Prayer Potions along with me, went to Taverly, and began the Slaying.
One thing I hate about the Taverly Dungeon is that it takes forever to get to the monsters. I know, there are shortcuts, but my Agility level is only 52.
Turns out that Hellhounds had some issues getting through my 80 Defence, so I actually didn't need Prayer Potions. But before I had finished my task, my friend, Assai, asked me to go duelling. He had been asking me quite a few times, so I decided to go with him. I beat him the first few rounds, but then he brought out the dreaded Korasi. That special attack destroyed me. But I had fun, and that's what matters.
He left, and I started to get invited to duels (friendly) by some other people. For the most part, I destroyed them. But then a level 86 guy came along and challenged me. No big deal, right? I started, and I immediately knew I was screwed. He was a Ranged pure. I died within a minute, so I rematched him. I died again. And again. Turns out he had level 86 Ranged.
Well today has been fun, see you all tomorrow!

Today I logged on and was still at the Duel Arena. Almost instantly, I was invited to a duel. I don't know what makes people want to duel me. Anyways, I owned him and then left for the Taverly Hellhounds. I'm there right now (w132). After banking for more food, I came back and was PMed by Bronze Beast. He complimented me on my blog! Well that's a good sign. Hopefully he's the first of more supporters! Anywas, some player was almost dead a Hellhounds, and he was begging people for food... No one would give him any, and when I gave him a monkfish, he was so happy!
I decided to venture into the Taverly Hellhound Bonus Dungeon for the first time. I got 56 Dungeoneering!
I went back to killing the Hellhounds (only 90 or so left I believe), when I once again banked for more food. I was in Falador running to Taverly when a player came up to me. He was level 63, and he wanted to teleport me to Falador 50 times so that he could get level 95 Magic. I was immediately suspicious. Anyways, I agreed, and he teleported me to Falador. We did this for a while, but I took caution to make sure that I read exactly where he was going to teleport me. He kept urging me to go faster, click faster. I didn't obey, and I continued to read exactly where he was teleporting me.
After, oh I don't know... 40+ teleports, my fear came true. He tried to teleport me to Ice Plateau. Luckily, I was reading where he was trying to teleport me, and he didn't catch me. He teleported me to Falador a few more times, and then he said thank you. I said no problem and went back to the Hellhounds. I killed more, and gained a few levels! 73 Strength and 102 Combat!
I continued to kill them, and saw adventurers come and go... One particular player got 71 Slayer before my eyes! I congratulated him wholeheartedly.
After killing 150+ Hellhounds, I eventually got the drop I had been waiting for. A Hard Clue Scroll. If there is one thing you need to know about me, its that I love Clue Scrolls.

Today I went to Hellhounds for the umpteenth time... And was immediately bombarded by an angry Ranger telling me that this was HIS spot, and that I have to move. Now I completely understand. I've been in his place before. But then he began to insult me, and work himself up. I told him "If you say please, I'll move". But this didn't seem to have any effect on him. He continued to throw insult after insult, and after a while of this, I eventually moved away just for the sake of peace.
I finished my task, and eagerly began my Hard Clue Scroll. It was a relatively short one, and afer killing a few Double Agents and Saradomin Wizards, I eventually got my reward. I got some Rune Bolts, a Rune Pickaxe, some Mahogany Planks, some Nature Runes, and a few Miscellania teleports. Altogether, this came to about 110k.
I don't really feel like Slayer anymore... But I felt like getting my task just to see what it was. Guess what? MORE DRAGONS. I couldn't believe my eyes. Duradel definitely hates me. I have told him over and over that I hate dragons... But he decided to give me 73 Black Dragons anyways! I'm serious... Is this a glitch or something? Like 9/10 he will assign a dragon...
I don't feel like doing that right now... So I think I might use my charms and work towards my goal of 62 Summoning. I really want the Abyssal Lurker for Runecrafting.
Well that's all for today; Tuesdays and Thursdays I don't get much of a chance to play.
See you all tomorrow!

Hey guys, what's up?
First of all, when I logged on, one of my friends was getting 99 Construction! I raced to the Varrock Estate Agent, and we all had a blast. Her name is ForeverMandy by the way. She's pretty epic at Mining.
So yesterday I said I wanted to train Summoning. So I did. But my 212 Crimson Charms didn't really get me as far as I had hoped... I only went from 52-55! Oh well. Not a big deal. Except that while getting 55 Summoning, I got 1700 total level!
So after that, what to do? I wasn't really sure. I didn't feel like killing more stupid dragons, so... I wasn't sure what to do. Then it struck me. Like a rubber glove full of cold water to the face. I should do some Mining! I'm at 92 Mining, and I really hadn't trained it for a while. *Why, Grimwold2?* Because it's boring. Nahhhh... Ok, yes it is. So I couldn't bear to watch the screen. So instead, I mined while watching RayWilliamJohnson on Youtube. Pretty funny dude.
But then I thought to myself... If I'm going to train a boring skill, why wouldn't I train a skill that I'm not 90+ in? I couldn't figure out the answer to that one, so I made my way to Catherby to start some Fishing.
Now I got a pretty fail Fishing level, so I catch like one oad of fish per 15 minutes... And these are tunas and swordfish we're talking here. Well good ol' Ray started getting a little boring after the 40th video. So I looked back at the screen. And to my horror, there was an easter egg on that Water Obelisk Island!
Whenever I moved, it moved to follow me... Eventually we started talking, and it made for a real good boredom breaker. Her name was "Im Taken". Interesting name, no?
So I got 64 Fishing (yay), and started getting a little bored of even that. I didn't really know what to do on Runescape, so I did the only sensible thing. I logged off.
