~~Application guidelines
I detest numerical reviews, for I believe every story is special. Numerical reviews not only undermine the content of a story, but also encourage comparison with other stories which is frankly unnecessary. Grading, on the other hand, shows the applicant exactly how far they need to improve. Beware that description and grammar are not the first and foremost elements of a story that I’m looking for – of course, they have to be decent. Primarily, though, my aim is to promote creative and strange tales.
I will try my best to be unbiased and I will be grading the story in the following category, with the Grades: E, G, A, B, D and U.
Grade E = Exceptional!
Grade G = Good!
Grade A = Acceptable.
Grade B = Bad!
Grade D = Despicable!
Grade U = Unclassified!
-The story must be original and must be entirely your own work, including editing and proofreading. It must not be a work of which you have created previously. Applicants that are found doing so will receive an immediate disqualification.
-If you have failed to gain an entrance and wish to re-apply, you must submit a new short story upon your re-application in 2 weeks’ time.
-The story must be *vaguely* related to RuneScape. Remember, the possibilities are endless!
~~Tips
-Try writing something different, something unique – for the most parts PLOT is what gets you into the guild.
-Treat this as an opportunity to explore new genres/new ways to approach a genre.
-Proofreading is very important. Typos do count against your score.
-The minimum guild entry requirement is 2 G, 2 A, and 1 B grade.
-If an applicant received a grade ‘D’ or below in any category, (B or below in Plot) they will be declined.
-Once accepted, you will be asked to fill in your ‘Bio’ to confirm your membership.
-Be sure to take advantage of the grading scheme so you know exactly what I ask for.
-Remember, I am on YOUR side, and I enjoy a good read just as much as anyone.
