Must we long over the days of the past,
And loathe the present with our minds aghast?
We must let our common sense roar,
And let our imaginations soar.
We must not ponder over what is lost,
For if we do, what may be the cost?
We must now look into what the future has in store,
As well as eliminate our habits of complaining once more.
Look at what the future has brought us,
For many updates have come that haven’t made a fuss.
What about high detail?
That certainly wasn’t a fail.
Looking back, we can certainly see,
That all of these unfortunate updates were a necessity.
We must now learn that they were for our own good,
And Jagex has done all they should.
Now, it is our turn.
We must not scream, yell, or burn.
We always have many things to learn,
So why don’t we start by giving in return?
We all hold the power to promote peace,
We can cause all the complaining to cease.
Appreciate is the main word to know,
So why do we bring Jagex trouble and woe?
These are questions we all must ask,
For we must all find our true task.
It is not to boast or achieve,
Or to simply pack your bags and leave.
Levels aren’t always a form of status,
For we must put this system on hiatus.
Now is the time for revolution and change,
But for things to do there is such a wide range!
There is only one clear place to start,
And that is located in our own heart.
The good ol’ days are now long gone, and now is the cue,
To allow our hearts to pull us through.
Let us save Runescape,
For there is no need to escape.
We can all cherish and sing,
Because good fortune to Runescape we will bring.
We must all know that we can do so much more,
Because we can bring to Runescape happiness galore.
There is nothing more for me to say,
Except to let us start saving Runescape today.

A gleaming white skull on a pike might seem a grisly possession to be displaying at the front of a chapel to Saradomin, but to Father Goric, it was his most beloved object. Every morning that I entered the altar room, Father Goric’s belonging would stare down at me through hollow eye sockets, lipless jaws clenched together in an eternal bite.
I plucked up the courage one morning to ask Father Goric of the skull.
“Father, why do you display such an object in our holy chapel?”
The old priest plodded over to the window in silence, staring out through the glass as if his memories were beyond the closed portal. After several minutes of silence, the priest spoke.
“It is a trophy, from the days of the Barbarian Wars,” began Father Goric.
“I was but a humble priest of Saradomin, following the 2nd Light Division through the lowlands of Asgarnia. We were not a well equipped force, poor armour, cheap swords and battered shields. Even we, the priests, wore torn, mouldy robes. The only thing that held us together, the only thing that held our will to fight was a sense of duty to Saradomin.”
“What were you doing with an army, Father?” I asked, curiosity getting the better of me.
“What do you think we were doing, boy? It was the Barbarian Wars, we were an army...we were fighting. Asgarnia, great Asgarnia, was under threat from barbarian warriors from the far north, where the water freezes over and snow falls every day.”
“Who were these people, Father, to challenge the might of Saradomin?”
Father Goric stared at me for a full minute, his old eyes boring right into every corner of my soul.
*The Fremennik.”
This is where Father Goric started his tale.

“We were passing through the swamps near the river, en route from the small village of Lumbridge to Falador, to bolster the defences. Fremennik warriors had been pouring from their tribal towns in the north, and they were already at the base of the Mountain of White Wolfs, preparing to climb it into Asgarnia. I won’t bore you with the details of the trip, it was...uneventful.
“We barely got one night’s rest in Falador, the Fremennik were a quick army, extremely quick. They were on our walls by dawn, hacking away at gates and throwing up scaling ladders. We fought valiantly, the standard of Saradomin behind us, urging us forward into the fray. The Fremennik were simply too good for us, however.
“With expertly crafted weaponry, tough and light armour, and the skill equal to that of ten of our soldiers, it was no surprise that we were defeated. I was dragged off by one of the Fremennik as the rest torched Falador, whooping and screaming their cries of victory.
“I resisted, and was beaten for what I did next. The Fremennik ordered me to take up arms against my fellow Saradominists, join the Fremennik Army in their ravaging of Asgarnia and Misthalin. Naturally I refused, but it(c)'s almost funny how convincing the pointy end of a sword can be when it’s held at your throat. I had no choice but to join, I was only a young man back then, I did not want to die. Priests aren't warriors, they're blessers.

“Yet only two days later, I was standing in formation with the Fremennik warriors as they prepared to sack the village of Draynor, the town of Rimmington, the port of Sarim, even Lumbridge and heavily fortified Al Kharid. The skull on my pike over there was from my first kill in battle. The man was a captain of the infantrymen, I think. I can’t remember.”
“But Father!” I cried. “Why keep such a trophy, why keep such a reminder of the blasphemy you caused under Saradomin’s name all of those years ago!”
Father Goric’s eyes grew dark, anger flashing across his face. He leant in so close that his nose was touching mine. I’m not sure if it was just my imagination, or whether it was real, but I swore I could smell the scent of blood in his breath.
“Because sometimes...” Father Goric whispered.
“I miss it.”
I cried in agony as a sword was run through my chest, my liquid of life, my blood, running out onto the floor. I saw Father Goric laughing with pleasure, before his sword was next held at my throat, prepared to decapitate.
