His foot steps echoed, in the night they sounded like thunder. He had waited so long for tonight, the night he took the place of his master. His brethren followed him, they too were prepared. In his mind, this was justified, the murder of his master was necessary.
This wasn’t just for him, they needed a stronger leader. His master was too peaceful, content to do nothing, opportunity after opportunity passed, and he did nothing. Now they would have a stronger leader, him. Into the High Tower he walked, his master felt the treachery at foot; he turned, with an angry look on his face. The man pulled a long staff from under his cloak. The master stared in disbelief; it was the Staff of Armadyl.
“So, you have indeed fallen far, you will never find peace, that I swear.” The master’s voice was calm. The man drove the staff into his master’s chest, The Master shoved back at the Apprentice, driving the staff into him also. He had such power. The Apprentice gasped, he could feel the infinite energy flow into his body. His brethren fought off the Master's still loyal guards.
The master slumped to the ground; silently he uttered a curse… Then like a scream from the below the world seemed to be falling apart, but then suddenly it passed. His master’s body had disappeared. He could feel his master’s power surge through him, now, he was complete.
This was the 2nd age.
The Master was Zaros.
And the murderer was Zamorak...

I am now a god, he thought.
Zamorak turned to his brethren, and with a new found power, roared,
“Bow before me! The Mahjarrat have a new leader! Gielinor has a new god!”
Throughout the tower the voices of the betrayer’s were heard
“All hail Zamorak! All hail the new leader of the Mahjarrat!”
Zamorak knew that having a court full of betrayers was not a solid foundation, it didnt matter, they would be dealt with, with his power, noting mattered.
Zamorak's deep laughter echoed across all of Gielinor, and it seemed as if all of Gielinor was a little darker.
Still one thing was stuck in his mind, Zaro’s final words “Curse those who obscure truth, their reign will not be forever, I WILL RETURN!”
He brushed it off, a fool’s last desperate words, he needent worry.
He was not alone in his plot, there was another, his equal, he had followers also, but Zamorak had no intention of sharing his power with him. He would shortly become the only god in Gielinor, no one would challenge his rule, Guthix was absent, and this was the age of Zamorak!
And it was, but a new age soon came.

Chapter 2
Discovery in the fifth age.
“Three more weeks” Martin mumbled to him self, three more weeks and he’d be out of the hot sun at his desk at the esteemed Varrock museum. Born in Falador, Martin Vicvec was the son of a wealthy white knight, as a young boy he was prepared to become a knight, but that was not for him. He spent day after day at the library reading and learning. With that knowledge came questions. By the time he was 16 he no longer believed so blindly in Saradomin as his family did, he had no doubt that Saradomin existed, but he didnt think handing his life over to a order of Saradominist Knights who went about their business with no concern for anyone but themselves was the best choice.
Now his purpose was to further knowledge and to invent. At the age of 22 he was invited to join the Varrock museum staff, as a researcher. He quickly gathered his things and set off. The Varrock museum, widely known for its collection of historical objects, was also one of the leading institutes of technology, spear-heading the advancement into the steam age. That’s why he was there, Martin cared not for history, the future lies only here, in the future, he failed to see any point to study the past.
Yet here was, right where he wanted to be least. Digging in dirt in the hot sun, at the Dig site, it was the only job he could get to pay off his small 2nd story room he had bought in Varrock, in order to live near his new work. Three more weeks, and he was done, and his real work started. Crash! His shovel hit something hard, “aww damn!” he muttered, the dig site captain would give him hell for this, "use only approved tools!” they always said. Give me a break he thought, this junk had been in the dirt forever, and a shovel wasn’t going to hurt it. He was apparently wrong, the object he hit smashed, he leaned down to pick it up.

A shattered purple object, obviously very old, whatever it was, someone put a lot of work into it, it was carved intercity, and looked valuable. Heck, maybe this was what he needed to get a bonus, without bothering to put it in a bag, he ran to the captain. When the captain saw what he had, his face turned white, and he gasped.

Chapter 3
Scars of another life

“Raise you head! Your sins are forgiven! Dwell not in your past! Look towards the future, you are new! Serve Saradomin and you are forgiven!” the words roared through the church, Dekker clenched his teeth, he wished he could forget his sins, they haunted him. “You are a servant! And your work saves you! Saradomin's wisdom enlightens us all!” Father Septimis made this speech everyday to visiting adventures coming to the temple, they all wished to be forgiven. None more than Dekker, his past life was over, he had given his life to the man who saved it, Father Septimis, but it still haunted him. After the speech he walked through the leaves, his mind wandering, he made his way up the stairs into the Father’s office.
“I… can’t forget…I am followed by my past.” he said.
“Let Saradomin rule your mind, you will see there is no need for guilt.”
The father’s old airy vice was soft.
“I will, its jus-” Dekker said.
“No, you will, Say the great prayer before you go to sleep tonight.” The Father interrupted.
“Yes father, I will”

That night he did just that, but as he finished, he felt a chill go up his spine, and heard a whisper, but he couldn’t make out the words, suddenly he felt a presence in the room, he turned around and saw nothing, but still a warrior at heart, he un-sheathed the sword he hid under his bed, and put it up against his nightstand. He climbed under the covers and closed his eyes, he felt the room shake, and his statue of Saradomin fell and shattered, alarmed, he shot up, but after a while, his body got the better of him, and he drifted off to sleep.
He was awoken by a whisper… clearly… “Wake up, your mind has been corrupted, you will be redeemed, but not through the liar, Through me, we can both have our revenge…” the whisper was coming was every direction, the air felt heavy and his mind flashed all the things that he had suffered through, “Wake up child, your days of war are far from over… I… Will… Show… You… The… TRUTH!” He felt a feeling he hadn’t felt in years, it seemed to come without his consent, deep hatred. The voice sounded again “Your soul is stained, follow me, and you will bring about a new age…”
Dekker looked up and yelled “who are you?!” the whisper replied, seeming to fade away “I Am the Truth, My name is forgotten, but soon it will be praised in all corners of this realm, I will return to my rightful place, and the dark ones will pay…” With that, the nail that held up his Saradomin banner on the wall came loose, and the banner drifted into the torch on the wall and burst into flames.

Chapter 4
A forgotten Saint
A hooded figure limped outside the walls of Varrock, he approached the gate. The guard saw this suspicious looking man and stopped him, last time he let a shifty fellow in, the man turned out to be a thief, looking to pull a scam in the Grand Exchange, and he almost lost his job.
“Halt!” the guard ordered.
The man was surprised and jumped a bit, then regained his calm, and uttered in a voice that sounded like a thousand whispers, “Come, come, now, there is truly no time for this nonsense, I have work to do.”
The guard was getting annoyed, these peasants think they can mouth off to guards, there was a time when people respected officers!
*What is your business in Varrock?” he barked,
“Business? Not business, no, my work here is sacred.” The man said sounding displeased.
“Listen, either you tell me why you’re here, or I’ll send you to the cage overnight!”
The old man looked up, the guard stared with disbelief, the man looked older than anyone he had ever seen, surely he should be dead,
The man looked angry, he spat out
“There will be a time when you are punished for your obstruction, my lord will soon awaken, Gielinor will be no place for you.”
“I’ve had enough of you old man!” the guard grabbed the old man by the arm
The old man said in a calm voice
“my lord has no patience for this, you are a obstacle.”
The guard felt a sheering pain, his hand burned, he let go and jumped back, he turned to run and call for help, but it was too late.

Chapter 5
Unknown Treasure
The Dig site captain stared in disbelief at the object Martin brought him. Martin was feeling good, apparently whatever he found, it was important, he started to talk “I found this in the North-Eastern patch, I was just di-“
The captain cut him off “Excellent work… I… Uh… go see the payroll clerk, tell her to pay you your wage, and that I sent you, your done here…”
The captain ran off towards the research center, mumbling about something.
Zaras? What did he say? Zaros? Martin had heard the rumors, some wandering adventurer came through, had interest in taking the exam, passed, and found some under ground shrine, it was all just a rumor he thought, people had been digging here for at least 30 years, someone would have certainly found that before… but still that rumor had something to do with Zaros… Martin knew the name, buts that’s about it, he cared too little about ancient gods and superstitions to give it a second thought, he was happy to get his money, and he was done with this miserable place.
However, Martin didnt like not knowing things, in the back of his mind, he wondered what he had found, and why it had made the captain so excited.

Chapter 6
Dawn of a sleepless night.
Dawn was the most beautiful thing Dekker had ever seen, after a sleepless night, the light of day was a welcome sight. Dekker stumbled out of bed and ran to the Saradomin monument in the court yard, as he arrived he fell to his knees and said his memorized prayer, half way through the prayer, he heard the whisper again,
“Why, why? You are a warrior, do NOT give your praise to a Liar! Your father’s house holds the secret.”
My father’s house? Dekker never even met his father, then he realized the voice must mean his other father, Father Septimis. His house? His chamber… out of curiosity, quietly he walked to the holy chamber, he lifted his fist to knock, but stopped half way, and lowered his hand.
The voice began to speak with anger,
“What are you doing!? Enter, fate commands you!”. Dekker ignored it, and walked away, but with each step, he felt colder, and felt stinging pain, he tried to run, but it got worse, just as he thought he was going to pass out he turned around and headed back, the pain lessened, he knocked, but no one answered, he felt the pain again, even worse, out of desperation he slammed his full weight against the door, and it collapsed open. The room was empty, he felt a cold wind, leading his towards a large book on a shelf, the title was strange “His Father’s Story, His Son’s Story.” He opened the book, and the cold wind blew to page 177, what he saw made his heart stop, I never knew… he thought, just then Father Septimis walked in, Dekker turned and said with a shortness of breath “why did you never tell me?”, the father looked at the floor, and with a deep breath uttered,
“The truth... is not as important as peace.”
The word flashed in his mind, 'Truth'.
