It's that I just don't blindly take all suggestions and put them in the story. I try to have a discussion and maybe explain my reason for the choice of word etc. Some people interprets this as stubborness but not really I know that I won't be learning anything if I just take everything blindly.

Agreed- and neither would I.
Sometimes people forget that writing has no "right" or "wrongs". Imagine if Bernard Shaw has posted one of his plays here for comment- traditionalists would have decried his use of grammar and dismissed his plays
