Glenn started as Gwen walked out the door, and then stopped. Seems he wouldn’t be getting paid after all, with the haste that his apparent employer had walked out the door. All he had was a single coin…and a couple of gold bars.

That was barely enough to cover the lifestyle he wanted to live!

Would I be right in assuming Glenn is exceedingly greedy, given how a couple of gold bars could potentially be worth as much as or more than 30 29 coins?

Which leads to the question.

Just what kind of life does Glenn want to live?!

I wouldn't say 'greedy', but he definitely enjoys having a full coin pouch. Money makes the world go round, and Glenn absolutely knows that. Since the world is apparently ending, he might as well enjoy having some wealth while he has the chance.

Glenn wants to retire early basically, and becoming an assassin is one of the best ways to build a nice buffer! But that line was more to show that even his inner monologue is sarcastic.

Wait, but Glenn's an assassin, and Amelia can control shadows. They could be an awesome pair!

I think it would be more of a respectful nod and fist bump as they walked separate directions and never looked back at each other.
