The coal I mined came specifically from the Mining Guild, which requires around 70 or 60 mining to enter I believe. There is a certain quality to the coal there. In fact, it may have been the purest coal I have ever encountered whilst playing Runescape. But of course, there is no actual in-game measure of a mineral's quality, so it was all my imagination. But people say video games are art, therefore Runescape is art, and art is open to interpretation, so I am free to interpret the coal as much as I wish. And since the Mining Guild has such high requirements, it is only reasonable that the coal there is extra special. Otherwise, what is the reason to go there? Sadly, most of the players there were bots, but I did meet a lovely person there who filled me in on all the stuff that transpired in my absence. I legitimately considered getting back into the game, but then I realized that most of the game was now dead content and I only ever played Runescape for the lore, but now all the truly lore revealing quests have ridiculous requirements that I will never have the patience or time to get when much more entertaining and rewarding games are available. Anyways, that was some damn fine coal.
Beneath the gold, the Bitter Steel.
