Cmon Annie, what's so difficult about it? It's a simple choice, and if you don't take one side the bad part of both sides is going to happen.

More pragmatic characters could agree with this decision as a third option. Messing up both sides could be a legitimate method of making peace, even if forced. Though I get the feeling Annie Wells isn't very manipulative. So. Yeah. maybe it is better to stick with the cosmic plaything role.

Just my two cents. O_o Why is it so easy to come up for ideas for other peoples posts, I wonder. :P

I wasn't discounting that as an option, but I got the feeling Annie didn't want more "bad" stuff to happen than was necessary. Still, I don't think there's too much of a hope for peace until one side is beaten into unconditional surrender (and then executed). The attacking side here doesn't seem like a group that is going to give up until they've destroyed themselves in the assault. Done in by the dubious doings of destiny.

There is always a fourth option, where Annie lets out her inner berserker and launches an immediate attack on BOTH the attacking and defending parties. Nobody will see it coming, which is why it'd be so grand.

But we'll probably save that one for the fan-fictions.

EDIT: Nobody wants bad stuff to happen, but reality and morals conflict. What seems like the right option might lead to a bad end, and likewise the good end doesn't necessarily have to be just and bloodless. All you can do in the end is act as your character, and hope to hell they can reach the good end (because if you know this before you begin writing a scene, then what's the point of writing it?).

I really don't know why I said this.
Getting context in out-of-character is great for immersing yourself, but we've agreed before it shouldn't affect how we control our characters. After all, I'm sure we can rely on A * I to hand out the plot armour if needed.

They haven't really treated her badly, though. All they've said is that she's a child - which she is...you can't make someone 10 years old and expect warriors to take everything they say seriously - and made comments about how foreign children don't do things properly, which isn't necessarily an insult to her.

And good ends, West? Why would we want those? I'll take the neutral end, where some things happen but we don't really care about them.

Hmm, shall I attempt to make more options within a scenario? Generally, I limit them to two or a few, as too many choices may make things more difficult.

But yes, I did mention Annie could simply stay behind, but her latest post mentions she follows the princesses towards Atatos. I also mention Atatos will be able to extend his branches over the castle, allowing Annie to climb him then partake in the assault if she chooses. Though I'm not sure what a child can do to physically defeat adult werewolves.

For the archon, Annie is just a kid, who despite wearing some child-sized hoplite armour, is still considered a foreigner (he was alluding to her armour). For the archon, Annie is just a kid, even though he has seen her preform magic, he does not view Annie as a reliable warrior. Annie was trained to be a spy, not a commander. For Archon Kritodemos, in relation to Ancient Greek culture, women and girls are viewed as less capable then men, and following his culture, he views Annie has some pesky little thing.

As Inferi said, soldiers would not take children very seriously. Although child soldiers are historic, and make an appearance in some parts of Africa and the Middle East in the past hundred years, child soldiers don't really know what they are doing, and as such, are never successful. Annie is ten years old, she is a child, her presence is the same as a ten-year-old holding an AK-47 expecting to be treated as a warrior honestly. Hence, my solution, is to view Annie as a girl version of Link or some other anime child hero. Perhaps Annie will come upon a moment when she turns into a young adult magically, unlocking the true potential of her inner powers.

I am currently waiting for Zaphiran, Farren and Amelia, but I recall Inferi wanting Guthix to post first, so I'll wait until then before continuing the assault fully.
