Yo Chasers, Scarlet is 6, although because she was built she looks 18. I mentioned it somewhere in her intro. Done in by the dubious doings of destiny.

I know, but I don't know which of those to put in the age. I wouldn't be so confused about it, but you specifically said that she learned and processed information at a faster rate, and didn't need to sleep.

So, while she was created 6 years ago, I wouldn't say she's six years old. Age is not just a number of years since you were given life, but a measure of your experiences and knowlege. I would say that rings doubly true for someone like Scarlet.

So, profound thoughts aside, what would you like me to write down?

Hmm. In that case (since I do agree with you) I'd say 16-18 (so 17 I guess?) probably fits best. She might act a little older or younger than that depending on the situation, but that's probably a good indication of when they'd feel like her mental age was sophisticated enough to perform field operations.

Oh, and at this point would she simply be a member of the Ground Forces? I got the impression nobody is part of the Department yet.

Also, what's your rule with fighting stuff right now? I was imagining that you'd rather not have any player controlling the NPCs, but is that an accurate assessment?

Okay, I'll put her at 17 then.

She could be, but she could also be part of a different private organization dedicating to building synthetics such as her. I'll give you the liberty to your character's backstory as much as you please!

And no, nobody is part of The Department yet.

As for fighting stuff; I'll give you free control over a pair of guards if you'd like to do a take down or something. Don't rush in and insta-kill Mysterious Man(tm), and don't think you can win a 10 on 1 match where they all have guns, and you have a plucky attitude.

Ok. The only reason I was asking about the guards was because I assume taking them out means their guns are now up for grabs, and that changes the balance of power dramatically. Well, a little at the very least.

As for where she belongs, I was thinking that she was made by some government-contracted laboratory or something of the sort that was tasked with making units like her so that they could be part of the Ground Forces and minimize the amount of people that actually got hurt.

So basically she's part of the Ground Forces for the time being, and not in any position of command or influence.

Brazenly attacking in this situation would require uncanny luck, extraordinary circumstances or a complete disregard for others well-being. Even if you could take a pair down, there would (likely) be more - and there are (hundreds?) of meat shields between you and them.

Unless, of course, we're applying rule of cool. :P

Brazenly? Who said that's gonna happen? Besides, it was stated that they're roaming in pairs, and they they're exposing weaknesses through overconfidence. Someone who is trained to be part of the Ground Forces could take advantage of that, even if it wouldn't mean a huge overall victory.

I'm assuming the mall is large enough that it's possible to catch a few unaware and away from everyone else.

I'll admit, I'm also trying to find a way to meet up with people that stays within her character action boundary, and dragging a pair of incapacitated enemies into a store where everyone else happens to be staying fits that fairly well.
