I was referring to my suggestion on how to manage both Settings 5 and 6's tendency to explode.

But while we are on the topic, how powerful can setting 6 be? I already meanted it can punch through all but the highest quality shields, but I figure it should also be able to rip through several layers of metal. We're talking about a 1 in 10 chance to explode here, which drains the entire battery and forces him to reload after one shot.

And if it does explode, Gary's arm will be crippled and unusable.

Well, I would think that if such a thing did have a tendency to explode on setting 5 or 6, then it probably wouldn't be used or given to you in the military, which means that you probably bought it on the Black Market?

I thought it was a little silly to include that, but honestly you wear the Blackbird Mascot helmet into battle, if I am not mistaken. I would have it set so that it has a 1-10 chance of overheating and/or rendering the weapon incapable to fire for a period of say... five minutes. It makes it more more military-friendly.

How powerful should such a laser revolver be? Well for instance, you never mentioned what setting it was on for when you shot the Slorian loan shark. 6 should be able to penetrate a Slorian's bullet proof scales, 5 would do a little less, 4 would likely be default setting, 3 is for vaporizing insects such as mosquitos, 2 is for pranks, 1 is to cause major skin iritations.

Not all lasers, but just because their scales blocked the shot, doesn't mean that they are not suffering from radiation poisoning. Just your friendly neighborhood gay boy! =)

1 is for vaporizing insects and mosquitos or scaring small animals. 30 shots.
2 is for taking your target alive. 20 shots.
3 is for lethal shots against unshielded targets, or to bring down weak shields with a couple hits. 12 shots.
4 is for average shielding, taking one or two shots to bring the shield down and one more to kill the person behind it. 6 shots.
5 is for heavier shielded targets. 3 shots.
6 is your "oh ****!" button. 1 shot.

Anyways, I like your idea on the thing overheating instead of exploding. Maybe Setting 6 could have a 1 in 5 chance of overheating and Setting 5 could have a 1 in 10.
