In my own RPs, I have the option of secondary thread masters, who take turns as such, an idea to allow users to take turns being a minor thread master, so distribute effort and diversify the scenarios, though I'm not sure how good an idea it is.

All in all, I think extra TM's are always a good idea - how could getting people to be as invested as you are about a world you created be a bad thing?

Currently thinking of ways to incorporate everyone's fear...

How severe should I make it? Should it traumatize the characters forever or help them overcome that fear in the future? That kind of stuff.

Why not do both?

Perhaps more creators of RPs could consider my idea of secondary thread masters, then, if they'd like? This, of course, can be limited to up to a few post's of content or a number of happenings or changes.

For example, in my RP Ashes to Ashes, a scenario I put for a user makes that user a secondary thread master until the scenario is done with in whatever way the user wishes. In a broader sense, the secondary thread master can also control a region, faction, settlement, or environment for a limited number of posts/occurrences. Like West said, getting other people to invest ideas into a created world in a sandbox-style method also helps get people involved more, as well as forming an influx of newer ideas and settings to work with.

Oh, and as for Surviving the Dream, I will try to post sometime later today or tonight. In regards to fear factor, perhaps varying degrees could be utilised throughout the course of the RP. For example, a giant sea monster might be too much, but some sort of aggressive sea serpent that appears on the lakeside/oceanside.

I'm thinking that each area has its own little hidden danger or horror, combined with the fact that everyone will have to face their own fear at some point.

Of course, it might be hard to incorporate a threat for everything .

It's not exactly a new idea. When the Forums were more active, some threads would have secondary thread masters who could accept bios, have extra characters, and sometimes introduce their own subplots or influence the current plot. It was usually done when the thread master was busy or if the thread itself just had too many people for one person to manage.
