Well, I recently found that the Pouliot and Couture side of my family (my mother's side) has lineage going back to Anne Couvent who descends from Charlemange, and the Pouliot family also has lineage to Catherine Baillon, an ancestor of King John and King Philipp Augustus II, who have their ancestry going back to Rollo. My Norman ancestors immigrated from Normandy to Quebec in 1535.
My mother's side of the family has a paternal male line R1B DF49 which comes from Ireland, oddly enough. Presumably, the Norse Gaels who lived in Ireland later immigrated with other Norse into Normandy, and that'd be where that comes from, around the Rouen region, which happened to include Rollo I guess?
Another peculiarity is that our Y-DNA: mtDNA T2a1a matches other genetic data in Igaliki Fjord, Greenland, at around 1000 AD. I have no idea how or why XD I guess a descendent of Rollo ended up in Greenland?
