Hm, activity plummeted again, but we still have some going on in Vampyro.
I PMed Atarashi to see if he's OK, hopefully he posts soon.
In the meantime, if anyone's still out there, I was watching scenes from various cult classics such as Hellraiser, The Keep, The Thing, The Evil Dead, Pumpkinhead, etc. They gave me the idea that a story seems to be driven by the villain/evil force, of which the survivors scramble about trying to figure out how to deal with it. This also made me think that role-players need to have stronger roles, or incorporate a player's character into a powerful role via some sort of amalgamation.
I also think these events should happen faster, so rather than building tension and subtly, we approach the climax within several pages or so. I think it'd also be cool if players' actions could decide how the story's events unfold amidst several immensely powerful NPCs' backstories/user-influenced NPCs/characters to reform the world around them as we approach the climax.
Overall, this system would work with really anything, but I was thinking of a dark but basic role-play something within dieselpunk/historic fiction/fantasy and--as usual--the capability for users to be whatever they feel like, but maybe with certain abilities attracting certain entities or being the cause of looming doom.
I don't know if this idea would work but might as well throw out a simple concept first and see what goes.
