My comment was intended to be a joke regarding current times.
Though I'm hardly one to talk.
My allergy response to typical airborne pollen is to cough, compared to the more traditional "sneezing". (It may surprise you that the cells lining the throat are the same as those lining the nasal area. so you can still be irritated, just with a different response to the stimuli. I had to go to an allergist for a chronic cough. For like 2-3 years straight, July to Oct, I gradually developed what would appear to be Flu like symptoms. Allergist showed a rather extensive list to the reactions to the local pollen.)
Ofc, right now, coughing in public ... gets some
really
nasty looks from other people. And saying "oh, it's my allergies" doesn't exactly make them feel any better.
