How are everyone's roleplay reserves coming along? Things seem to have died down again, but as usual, I am still around. However, this is the month everyone goes back to school, so maybe it's just that.
But, I was thinking of a few potentially useful mechanics for our RPing, which may spark life here.
1. Bio characters with simpler, or single, purpose. For example, a user could create a merchant character, who appears here and there to barter, sell or buy things. The merchant would then bugger off, and may come back at a later time.
Other ideas could be bios whose sole purpose is to be a solution to a problem, is a hidden antagonist/twist villain, someone who causes a change in environment, or something who undergoes a change.
2. Competition instead of difficulty or chance-based failure/success: a roleplay or situation can have only one winner.
3. Stronger storytelling and story themes. Could intertwine with existing bios, NPCs, environments, or lore, allowing users to add to the world.
4. Predetermined character destinies: the GM could create certain bios for certain situations, which may be randomly selected or have a chance at appearing, or appear only once or when called upon, and such characters could change the course of the story or be a hidden threat, or a counter to another character.
