I don't think you understand how Crystallis technology works, Annie.

Crystallis is a mineral that has fairly recently (within three decades, I think?) been uncovered from mining operations deep below ground, and it was discovered it's a remarkable power source when the energy within the crystals is harnessed.

You can't harness it by hand. It requires specific machinery to draw out the energy that will make things happen, those things depending on what kind of machine the Crystallis power source has been connected with.

What I'm saying is, on its own a piece of Crystallis is useless and does not give someone powers. Also, why on earth would your mother give you a random lump of Crystallis? It seems like such a silly thing to give your child, especially since it isn't normally handed out in its raw form.

(Be aware, this description is my rough explanation of it. I understand how it works because I've spoke to Inferi about it (I also have completed the games that it's all based on) but I'm probably missing some key points that he'll probably explain when he gets home from work)

No. Matrixes are one of the machines Crystallis can power, and they can be used personally to achieve 'powers' so long as you use the matrix. However, combat matrixes are NOT common at all. They're, I think, almost entirely military use at the moment.

So no, you can't just have one.

What's the point of participating in a roleplay if you're not going to adhere to the rules/laws of it's universe? You might as well just join every roleplay with the same character then...wait...

Well, huh.

But really, it's like if I joined a medieval fantasy thread as a modern man with no particular skills or talents named Josh. What's the point of him being in that universe? He can't really exist, and if he does exist, there's little that he can contribute. Unless it's a time travel RP which actually could be a good idea if executed right.

Has anyone actually done a time-travel RP? Or at least an RP where time-traveling is a part of the universe? That could be interesting.

I've considered the idea of a time loop roleplay, where the characters are repeating the same day over and over again but only they are aware of it. But my ability to run roleplays is not good.
