Chris,
1 In theory, yes, but not forever. After spending all AP, stats are lowered, so even if you have 100% chance of success, it’s still limited. Even if you spend 5 or less AP to not offset regeneration, someone can overspend and so overwhelm you.
2 There’s no way you can poison bullets, the heat, speed and impact would destroy the poison!
3 Mounts are separate entities, so a horse with plate barding would still suffer penalties as a human would.
4 No, they allow brief powerplaying, which can be used to intercept a Combo or life-threatening attack, for example.
5 You’d be quite the sneaky fellow indeed.
6 Do you mean wield the buckler in one hand also holding a weapon (which is historic), or wearing it on your belt? Shields are not pointless, they block most attacks simply by being raised.
7 Wielding a buckler and sword in the same hand means you’d have much less usage with both instruments.
9 If you wanted.
10 Putting yourself on fire isn’t a good idea.
You don’t need to do any of that.
There are no rules in Impurity. Just as the thread says, it is not meant to be taken literally or absolutely, only as a guide. Almost everything is just common sense. Characters adhering to Impurity are not invincible because they have certain stats. For example, if you have 18 Action Points, and someone cuts your head off, you’re dead, no questions asked. This is why there’s the RTD system, real-time-determination, which overrides features of Impurity if requested.
A simple system isn’t hard to produce, I can make add a simpler system instead of working on examples, and see how that goes.
