Can u give us the summary of what’s going on that thread?

The role-play begins with a prologue, referencing another user's villain by incorporating him in the main storyline. The prologue takes place twenty years prior to the RP, and also portrays a dark ruin, one of my characters, a sorceress, and possibly the mother of one of the characters.
Afterwards, the RP unfolds in a fantasy Persia, of which the heroes are attacked by the Assassin's Guild/Hashashin's Guild, upon they coming to Persepolis. An assassin threatened to kill a character, whose bio mentions she knows of a treasure of her people (which may have been referenced in the prologue).
But, are the Hashashim evil, or simply misunderstood? Currently, the user Oath has not yet posted after three days, which is odd. Then again, this is the month of approaching Halloween. Overall, the RP is just a typical fantasy, allowing users to do whatever they want.

The RP can be found here:

If I had to explain it, the other forum is harder for me to read. The lack of post-defining borders also tends to encourage my eyes to wander all over the page. :P It wouldn't be undoable, but it is irritating...

... Heh, the thread might be just the place for a character I actually picked up Skyrim recently... though, frankly, my head-cannon for this character scares me. She's basically a childish greatsword-touting necromancer who believes that everyone she kills is destined to become her new best friend! And if her “friends” time out or are killed, I wouldn’t want to be standing anywhere near her…

Well, before I go to bed, I guess I can say a few things about my recent adventures in Skyrim. I went to Markarth and started a few quests, and ended up in the jail quest. At first, I just ran away, but then read about the quest and found out you had to go to jail to continue the quest anyways. It's also the better choice, I think, seeing as then I don't have to kill innocent guards. So, I go to jail, and for some reason, Ulfric's battleaxe is still in my inventory. At first, I just sloughtered the prisoners (how most had magic was a bit surprising). After, I then felt bad, so reloaded the game, talked a bit, and resorted to beating up the Orc to pass the door.

So I find Madanach and want my revenge, so he gets up to fight. I gave him a break, and beat him to death with Demonica's fists. She kills him by kneeing him then smashing his head with a clothesline or something. So, most prisoners attack me, so I have no choice but to slaughter them, again, tho the Orc and the Unlucky prisoner don't. Oddly enough, the prisoner says, "Aren't you embarassed?", whereas the Orc did not seem to care I killed the King in Rags and most of the prisoners.

Later, I kill the giant spiders, then fight the two Dwemer things, they kill me the first time, so I had to put the game on Novice to kill them. Good thing I had Ulfric's battleaxe, I had a feeling it'd come in handy! I guess taking advantage of a glitch is cheating, but eh, whatever, I'd just use the Bound Sword spell anyways (which I forgot to do). In the end, the nobleman guy meets me again, and even tho he was rude earlier, well, he's had a change of heart this time. So, I kill a few of his corrupt guards, and in turn, everyone in the city thinks I was innocent. I guess it's all fair now, then.

Overall, a fun quest, but you don't get to kill that Orc lady. I like it when games give you prison-based quests, makes it worthwhile to be good at magic and unarmed fighting.

Funny, my Skyrim toon made it to Markarth recently too! But, unlike yours, my character refused to play along…

My toon, Six, was a particularly difficult character to handle. I play on max difficulty, and she has her own set of “knightly” morals. She is short tempered, bad mouths anyone who gives lip to her, DETESTS the idea of execution or prison… and she won’t kill citizens. The latter titbit made the Nepos fight REALLY difficult. But, in the end, I managed to get all of them on the ground, and they didn’t pursue… so clearly they weren’t worth killing.

So, Six now has conclusive proof that there is a Silver-blood conspiracy in Markarth, and returns to the Temple of Talos, only to find three guards standing over the fresh corpse of her friend and informant. They confess to their crime, and ask for Six to come along along quietly…

… Like hell.

The three guards were quickly felled by Six's blade - and by this point, Six is FUMING. Someone had ordered an innocent man dead. For what? Where was the honour? Perhaps she might take it up with the Jarl!

I ended that particular instance by beating on the Jarl, but I’ll probably reload because offing Jarls isn’t really in the game code, Markarth’s out of guards and Six’s bounty is skyhigh. Regardless, the moral of the story is clear: Never screw over my Dragonborn!

Ha, that's quite the character, West! I don't give that much character to my character, tho, for me, Demonica is just this creature that runs around, doing quests, seeing what happens, and going with the flow. I tend to treat people the way they treat my character, so if someone wants her dead, might as well repay the favor. But I like the idea of chivalry.

Oh, and I forgot to say, but I am doing another quest, where you get drunk (without actually doing anything) and have to go around retracing your rowdy steps. Turns out, in one instance, you attempt to marry a harpy-thing, which made me chuckle. Female Argonian marries harpy, that's not even interracial, that's trans-species. It's 2017, what isn't possible these days?

Azi, let me explain the lore of that little quest you did:

Markarth is the capital of the Reach, which holds the largest silver-mines in all of Skyrim. The Reach is plagued by the Forsworn, who are closely related to the Bretons of High Rock and were native to the region until they were conquered by the Nords.

The Forsworn worship Daedra, engage in bizarre magical rituals such as turning their magically talented women into Hagravens (that thing you married) and certain men into Briarhearts (they replace your heart with a pinecone and you come back as this sentient zombie-thing, stronger than ever.) They refused to accept their new Nord masters, and fled into the wilderness, raiding villages and caravans - but they only ever took food and equipment, as they had no need for gold, and in truth it was more about just killing Nords. All in all, thoroughly screwed up.

Now, the guy you ultimately sided with was Thonar SIlver-blood. The Silver-bloods are the wealthiest family in Markarth - they own half the city, and the prison you were thrown in (which also happens to be the largest silver mine in Skyrim - should have filled your pockets while you were there.) They've done this through cutthroat business practices such as assassination and sending thugs to harass people who refuse to sell their land/businesses.

So, go back about twenty-five or so years before Skyrim. The Empire went to war with the Aldmeri Dominion. While Skyrim's troops were helping the Emperor liberate the Imperial City, Madanach led the Forsworn in rebellion and took over Markarth, killing the Jarl.

After the war ended, the new Jarl Igmund needed to retake the city but didn't have the men. He went to Ulfric Stormcloak, and promised him free worship of Talos if he could win the city back. Ulfric agreed, and then successfully retook the city. Problem is, Talos worship was outlawed.

The Thalmor eventually noticed, and since it was a direct violation of the peace treaty they demanded the Empire arrest Ulfric. The Empire reluctantly agreed.

Meanwhile, Madanach had been captured and was brought to Thonar Silver-Blood. Rather than kill him outright, Thonar tossed him in the mine, and forced Madanach to use his Forsworn connections to assassinate his business rivals. He'd send a letter to Nepos, who would then find a radicalized Breton he could send to kill the target (remember how when you first entered the city, some guy with a dagger attempted to stab a girl in the back? That girl was sent by General Tullius to investigate the Silver-Bloods due to their Stormcloak sympathies.)

Madanach bided his time, doing for Thonar's bidding for years. But recently he got out of control, ordering killings that Thonar never asked him to (even ordering an attack on Thonar's treasury house.) He was planning to escape before you came along (you actually could have escaped with him had you not killed him, and you would have gotten to kill Thonar in the process.)

Anyways, after you killed Madanach, Thonar realized you had just solved a rather significant problem for him, and since killing you was too much trouble (you killed the King of the Forsworn and escaped Cidhna mine on your own), he decided to reward you and send you on your way.

So congratulations, you've helped a ruthless mafia boss maintain his grip over the city. Of course, the alternative would have been to let the leader of a violent terrorist organization go free, so... trade-offs.
