So I'm thinking that my guy is a monk who specialized a long time ago in his martial skills. He is interchangeable between fists and a crossbow, He carries a pair of spiked gauntlets in a backpack, and he specialized in herbalism to heal wounded comrades. He started out as a monk of Malis, but got bored with contemplating his existence, and decided to make his own as a mercenary.
I think that's the route I want to go down. Fuck magic

That sounds fine. Just know that Malis is not a martial deity, so your training will have to come from elsewhere. Also it's a bit weird that you say 'fuck magic' when one of Malis's spheres is magic. Maybe his preference of physical combat and a dismissive attitude towards Mana and Faith Magic led to the rest of his order treating him with scorn? Beneath the gold, the Bitter Steel.

Or maybe it's fair to say that the grandmaster of the monastery expelled my character for his dismissive attitudes towards mana, and utter disrespect for his fellow monks. And he found training back in his clan stronghold.
Also, Annie, I keep ITV on Life-Support for you while I work on my new RP. I doubt I will keep it alive after my new RP is up. It just makes no sense to keep an RP on life support when nobody else liked, or even appreciated it. Westenev and NotFishing played along for a while and then dropped out, Guthix, dropped out, Inferi dropped out. I've moved on from ITV. Just your friendly neighborhood gay boy!
