OK, I will intro Gary when I can, but I'm waiting for Shirley's posts first. It's important so that I can combine the storylines of Shirley and Annie with the others on-time. That way, neither group will go too far ahead.

I thought most Spartans did not have an AI? You can have an AI if you like, though you'll have to describe it, probably below your bio's second post.

So, Order and Chaos created the world, and the Caretakers seem to have also created lesser gods, I think. There are some kinds of magic, sometimes god-specific, which is peculiar. I found that lightning as a fifth element is a pretty cool idea, you don't see that too often. Enchantments of souls has a few curious features. Voodoo surprised me, I didn't expect that.

About pentagrams summoning demons, what if you drew a pentagram on someone, would the demon burst out that person's body?

Draconians seem to be the most versatile race, seeing as they can fly, have scales, and claws and teeth. I found it kinda cool that lycanthropy, vampirism, and undead are based on a god's influence. Some content repeats later on in the thread.

Well, I don't have much to add. I guess you could have your version of Khajiits and/or Argonians. I was a bit surprised that Minotaur are so short. Did you consider Gargoyles as a monster/playable race, or did I miss them? I think they'd fit.

I don't really have much else to say, Echion seems like a well thought-out role-play, even going into religion.

No, the Caretakers are minor gods that were handcrafted by the Brothers. The Aspects were ordinary mortals who acquired fragments of the Brothers.

Gargoyles aren't a race or a monster. They would be magical constructs with similar rules to Enchanting.

Pentagrams - the demon doesn't come directly out of what the pentagram is drawn on, it just appears. Also, a pentagram on a person would be too small to summon anything larger than an Imp.

Draconians are feared and distrusted. Plus, that was copy/pasted from the original draft of the thread. I may nerf it.

Minotaurs are short because in my original notes they were cursed dwarves. I kept them short because there are already plenty of tall races and monsters.

No Khajiit or Argonians. Beneath the gold, the Bitter Steel.

OK, thanks for clarifying the parts I didn't quite get. I'm still a bit worn-out from so much RPing this week, a bit of a surprise for me, I thought I'd have much more energy than this. I might have to take Friday off, or maybe the week-end, we'll see. Anyways, take your time with Shirley's posts, I sure need a break, lol.

Peculiar, Minotaur as cursed Dwarfs, that's not something you read too often.

-Merchant Guild

Those seem like all the typical Fantasy Guilds, right? Anything else I'm missing? I'm about to start adding in the Holy Orders dedicated to the various gods. Beneath the gold, the Bitter Steel.

So, Lasky, I would assume enchanting wouldn't be something to be taken lightly in Echilon? Based on your text, it would seem the magic is cast by tying ones soul to an item - so, given the price, would you would never see flaming swords or Rin Tohsaka's exploding pebbles on the open market?

I really need to give that event the better name. The God War, maybe? That's a bit generic, and there were only two gods involved. The Duel of Fates? That's a Star Wars rip-off right there.

Anyways, there's thousands of enchanted items in circulation from before the fight. After their enchanters died in the conflict, their items were recovered and passed down. So you will occasionally find something on the market at a high price.

Some particularly skilled pre-war enchanters even managed to bind demon and dragon souls to artifacts, which are extremely powerful, but these are the types of things you'd find sealed away in ancient ruins because they have a habit of controlling their masters. That particular art has since been lost.

I may remove the thing where the soul fragment is destroyed if the item is destroyed, and instead say it just goes back to the mage. However, the soul is still stuck in the item if the mage dies before they can recall it. That way, enchanting isn't as penalizing, but the enchantments don't automatically fade after the enchanter's death.

Or maybe I'll make it legal to use animal souls. And have that be common knowledge among enchanters, at least. Beneath the gold, the Bitter Steel.
