Yes, I'm OK Annie; I've been working with fire, fumes and smoke for six years, so I am resistant to heat and smoke. This allowed me to lean into flames and smoke (a thoroughly unpleasant feeling) and splash water directly into the base of the flames. The worst was at the dashboard, which basically erupted into fire, and in front of the windshield where there's holes to allow air, flames were flicking out them too. The best results was when I poured water down the back of the hood, just before the windshield, as the water flowers directly into the flaming engine. It was a great learning experience.

Oh OK, thanks for the clarification. I think by interruption, it's like, say, an explosion from somewhere that interferes with the current situation. I think ''interference'' would be a more useful word, maybe.
As a clarification, the camper was not so hot its metal was melting, but the metal hood did deform, and the glass shattered then melted stuck like that. Our attempts at stifling the flames prevented the fire from getting out of control, so to speak. I still think it's a bit funny I did more work than the fire department.
For good measure, I took my war hammer, Snowbuster, and easily poked a few holes in the hood, to exhibit my superiority.
I still find it funny that two tanks of gas, a propane tank, charcoal lighter, and four bags of charcoal did not catch fire. Obviously, my two makeshift forges were completely unharmed. Also, the fire extinguisher, which I found later, was lying on its side on a middle seat, untouched and unharmed, I guess it just wanted to enjoy the show.
