On a completely random note...

The design of this gundam has interested me lately - making me wonder how heavy that mace would be if it were scaled to human size, or how many required secondary superpowers you would need to use that cord-attached backblade effectively. O_o

I remember Gundam Wing, watched a little as a kid, though not much. Most of it didn't make much sense to me.

Well, as for that giant mace, it could be made of titanium, which is vastly lighter than steel. I have a plate of titanium, about four inches wide and 12 inches across, perhaps 5mm thick, but it weighs just a few hundred grams. A steel plate this size would have been at least a pounds or a little more or less.
Unless the devices had technology that manipulate gravity, or were imbued with an anti-gravitational device to make it lighter/easier to move, well, the machinery would need quite a lot of strength and energy to move those things.

Personally, if I were to fight such mechs, my weapons would not be giant mechanical suits, but very small flying devices that released large amounts of laser-targeted radiation, so that it could fry the circuits, wires, and even the pilot of such a suit.

They actually went into this territory with the next Alternate universe, Seed - but due to god-messiah Kira's frick'n laserbeams, they made beam and radiation weapons less effective in 00 to outright ineffective in Iron Blooded Orphans (to the point where the only use for them was to wipe out civilian populations, since the armour of the time was impenitrable against all but physical attacks).

As for Ai-controlled Drone weapons, EDI actually gives a decent awnser to this in Mass Effect when she explains why she doesn't fly the ship. While she (as an AI) has faster reaction time, when pitted against another AI, the better AI will always win - while a person's skill remains unpredictable.

To my understanding, I think the tail blade works similar to how Batman's (or the chinese electric batman's) cloak works - by inducing an electric shock, the material goes rigid. I'm not quite sure how one would control such a device like a flaccid tail, however. I'm wondering if gravitational (or magnetic) based superpowers might be a better way to explain a similar concept.

You almost make it sound like it'd be feasable to swing about a mace your size in length, Azi!

Guten Tag.

Good, considering the next move on ADW. Only after half a year do I begin to realise the rediculousness of bringing a holy English sword into a plot not even remotely involving England or celtic legend.
