Anyways, on a serious note, controlling the world is impossible. You have hundreds of cultures, dozens of languages, and dozens of religions. You won't be able to understand them, and will probably end up offending them if you try to make laws that apply to your entire empire. They will try to separate, and when one province rebels, others will follow suit.
So, you'll have to appoint a governor at the head of each province, who is capable, understands the culture, and is loyal to you, and these governors must be trusted with a great deal of independence. Unfortunately, with hundreds of governors, it is impossible for you alone to ensure that they have all of these qualities - they will go behind your back, and many will be so corrupt and incompetent that they enrage the local population anyways.
So you will have to make another level of government above them, and another level above that. And so on, until it finally gets to you at the top. You will be completely in the dark on most of the happenings and issues of your empire. Every time you wish to give a direct order to an authority figure in an area, it must be relayed through all those levels of government you set up until it finally reaches them. And government officials in general will be unable to do anything because they have so many people above them. The system would be horribly inefficient.
And, with no enemy to declare war on and no ally to negotiate trade deals with, you really have nothing to do but sit there and maintain an army to deal with the countless insurgences that will pop up.
So, directly conquering it will not work. You would basically end up with all the issues that the Roman, Mongolian, British, French, and German Empires faced, but on a constant global scale.
I suppose you could go with the whole Illuminati Puppetmaster routine, but that won't work either. You will have hundreds of puppets in various governments.

Beneath the gold, the Bitter Steel.
