*cowers in fear at your obvious anger*
Ahem.
*straightens and clears throat*
I just looked up how long it takes to write a novel and found a most inspiring quote: "Rather than worrying about how long it takes to write a novel, concentrate on writing the best manuscript within your ability to create."
A great novel might take a person five years to write. Or it might take them a year. Just a summer to write a great, publishable novel for the first time...sounds just about impossible. You might be able to complete a rough draft though.
So take your time. Do a little research if you have to. 1 page in 4 hours??? That would drive me insane! Maybe I'm just an amateur, but my policy is: write down the basics first and then polish (your words, your characters, your plot). A first draft doesn't have to be perfect...
I hope this post wasn't just a babble of useless words. Of course, you're free to completely ignore this.
And I'm not your only reader, unless you were referring to Wizard originally, in which case, I'm also a reader!
