Recently got back to work on an add. I plan to get through the whole event before posting it though, unless another month somehow ends up passing by, in which case I'll be disappointed in my lack of an attention span for this project. Hopefully I'll get to finishing it soon.

The further south he moved the more light began to shine in through the canopy of trees, yet he could still make out the darkening clouds off to the north as well as the ones to the east over the cursed lands of Morytania. Time passed ever more slowly the longer he spent out wandering. A good sign for him though, was that none of the trees were looking familiar, so at least he was sure to not be going around in circles. Eventually, he stumbled into a clearing with a large boulder in the center, so he decided to take a brief rest and consult the map again. He crawled up onto the rock and pulled out the bundle of notes.
"Damn, it's not like I can tell where I'm at now anyway." He stuck a finger on the map. "I started here, and headed this way." His finger trailed along a path into the forest drawn on the paper. "I'll probably end up back in Varrock before I find this place." He sighed and placed his head on his palm to think things over. As he rubbed his temples, a small, gray object glimmered in the grass by his feet. He slid off the rock and knelt down to pick up an awkward looking little charm. It looked like an earth rune, but had two protrusions on the top and bottom of it. "What is this?" As the words left his mouth, a light shined behind him. He spun around in a flash to witness the cracks in the boulder emitting a bright green light. "Wait, Rich was saying something about how this guy enters the altar with a strange talisman." He peered down at the charm in his hand and grinned. "I guess I found the place." He placed his free hand on top of the rock while clenching the talisman and watched as the world he was in vanished and was replaced with a rocky enclosure.

Tash circled around where he appeared to take in his new surroundings. From the lack of sunlight, he concluded that he must be within a cave, but a mysterious glowing light was coming from a stone circle on a small hill off to his right. As the circle came closer into view, he could make a massive stock pile of runes all gathered around a large, glowing, stone altar.
"Is someone there?" asked a voice as it echoed around the chamber. Tash stepped up to the altar and started to swivel in search of this new person. "Please refrain from tampering with any of the runes up there. I need them for my spell." From out of the darkness appeared a man garbed in dark green robes. "I guess I must've dropped one of my talismans outside. I presume you found one on the ground close by?" Tash nodded. "Well I've been transporting all of these runes here for the past few days; no wonder that I dropped a talisman or two." The man ascended the hill and came into better view. His skin was pale, and glowed in the light. His dark brown hair fell down past his chin, and a small beard framed the rest of his face. "So then, what're you here for?"
"I heard you were here to bring forth some monster and try and take over the world. So I'm here to stop you."
The man chuckled. "Well aren't you quite the hero?" He walked past Tash towards the altar and all of his runes. "I've collected thousands, perhaps even tens of thousands of earth, mind, and body runes and brought them all here to perform possibly the greatest experiment in the world of magic, and you want to stop me?"
"You're a fool," shouted Tash. "Using that many runes for anything will just result in a backfire and kill you instantly."

"Ah yes, that would be the case in any normal situation, but when it's applied here, it's a whole other matter." He placed his left hand down on the stone altar. "This rock is what is used to create earth runes. It's infused with the entirety of the element. I'm going to be removing my magical essence from my body through the use of these earth runes, and then infuse it into a golem with the mind and body runes, but rather than using an ordinary sculpted golem, I'll implant myself into this stone."
"That's insane!" retorted Tash. "It's never going to work! You're just going to get yourself killed!"
"Well, this is why it's an experiment." The mage leapt backwards onto the rock and began to fall backwards with his arms out.
An alignment of runes was laid out in the same pattern as his body atop the altar which had a fuse like connection of runes to the piles surrounding the rock. As his body made contact with the runes, a green flame of energy burst from his body, but was then pulled back through him and into the altar. The runes around him began to surge into the spell, and were absorbed into the rock. His body crumbled to dust as the entire cave began to rumble. It went silent for a moment before a blast of noise bolted out from the rock. Tash was thrown from within the circle before it burst into green flames of earth essence. Then, from within the engulfed enclosure, raised a massive stone form. It took up the entire thirty foot wide circle. Just when Tash thought it was over, the ground began to quake again. He was thrown down as the earth split in half and the rest of the earth golem emerged. The cave ceiling overhead crumbled as the monstrosity continued to grow from out of the rock, until it came to an abrupt stop as the feet finally reached the floor of the cave.
"That's...insane," muttered Tash as he gazed up at the colossal mass of stone standing before him. "But, what happened to the mage?"

Before Tash could get closer to examine the statue, the green essence flames reappeared all over it, primarily at the gaps in the stone at the joints. It then proceeded to march forward and knock away more of the ceiling which revealed the shining sky up above.
Tash dove out of the way of the collapsing cave and made his way over to a pile of rubble to climb out of the hole. Once he made his way out he was caught by the stunning landscape around him. Below his feet was a massive mound in the earth which stood up above the surrounding trees. The forest around him looked as if it went on forever, and it was speckled with glimmering orbs of light. Before he could sit around and take in the view longer, the goliath behind him took note of his little friend.
"Hello there, I'm glad to see you're still around," boomed the mage's voice from high atop his rocky frame. "I believe you were saying something about this plan of mine not going to work. I think I've got enough proof here to prove you wrong though."
Tash clutched his ears due to the loudness of his voice. He paled in comparison to his monstrous foe; it was as if he was only an ant ready to be stepped on. He prepared himself to respond hoping that his voice would reach. "Alright, so now what do you plan to do? I don't even know where the hell we're at!"
The giant laughed as he maneuvered his stone arms over his chest with a stone on stone grinding noise the whole way. "It's quite simple really; I just need to get into the portal down in that chamber." He paused to try and spot it out amongst the rubble, but failed to find it. "Oh, well this isn't convenient. It seems the portal has been buried. Well, I hope you won't mind waiting as I dig it out."
"Like hell will I let you find it!" Tash reached into his rune pouch and pulled out the runes for an air attack then hurled a blast at his enemy's nearby leg. To Tash's dismay, the spell fell apart on contact with the stone slab.
