“What is this?” asked Alder as he touched the stone. As he touched it, a startling image of skeletal ***ures in a snowy area came in his mind.

“I just..I..”Alder stammered, unable to comprehend properly what he saw.

“Yes. Everyone who has touched this stone has seen the same image of the Mahjarrat.” said Alder's mother. “All those years ago, the adventurer Marcus destroyed the Stone of Jas by using the Pendragon Key, a key designed by the Dragonkin to destroy the Stone of Jas and to rid themselves from the curse inflicted upon them. The Stone disappeared in a gleam of white light and a piece of it was left. However, as the Stone disappeared, both the adventurer and the key vanished as well.”

“Marcus was the same adventurer who was present at the Mahjarrat Ritual, correct?” asked Alder. When Alder was young, he was very fascinated by lore and legends. He used to ask his mother and father about the various legends around Gilienor.

“Yes. Now, the various followers of different gods have been trying to find it. Guthix has been put in a prison by the other gods, and now all gods seek this piece to bring themselves back into this world.”
replied Alder's mother. “Now I have a task for you.”

Just as Alder's mother was about to talk about the task, a purple symbol appeared on her shoulder, and an arrow went through that very point.

“NO!* shouted Alder as he took out his swords. He turned to see an archer flee away from the scene.
With a furious growl, Alder began to chase him. Then he realized his mother needed medical attention first. He rushed to his mother, and applied some green powder on her shoulder.

“Mother, will you be okay?” asked Alder, not bothering to hide the panic in his voice.

Alder's mother smiled weakly. “Don't bother to waste your medicine on me, son. You have been strong
after you lost your father. Be strong now too.”

Alder began to cry. Alder already lost his father, and without his mother, he won't have anything left.

“Don't cry, dear. Now, listen to my last request...take the fragment..to the Head Druid...Taverley. Ask him about..restoring..Infinitus.” croaked Alder's mother. Then a light appeared to fade in her eyes and she moved no more.

“Wait! What is this Infinitus you mentioned?” asked Alder, shaking his mother's body but to no avail.

Alder wiped his tears, and began to dig a grave for his mother. He buried his mother, made a tombstone for her using Earth spells and took the fragment.

Without a word, he looked up at the sky and teleported away.

A few hours later, Alder was in the house of the Head Druid, and spoke of the events which occurred.
The Head Druid was covered in white robes with a green trim. He had a long, white beard and was bald.

“Very well. I hope your mother rests in peace and that she finds solace in the Afterlife.” said the Head Druid. “Now, you told me that you do not follow any God Why is that so?”

“A few years ago, King Lathas falsely accused my father of slipping poison into the his drink. At that time, my father was a guest in his castle. Then, my father was put into prison and was executed a few days later. I prayed to all the gods before the execution day, and I was told by many others, that the gods will help you if you pray to them. Nothing happened.” spat Alder.

“I killed King Lathas later, for he was a Zamorakian and was attempting to take charge. I had discovered the evidence and had shown it to the people of Ardougne, and killed Lathas, getting my revenge. Then, King Primus took over, who was a minister previously.”

“I see. However, the gods are not allowed to interfere directly in this realm. That was what Guthix decided. Although he is imprisoned, his power and edicts are still being followed as they have a cataclysmic effect if a god doesn't follow it.” said the Head Druid. “However, given the choice, which god will you follow?”

“I would follow the God who would help me.” said Alder.

“I see. So you refuse to put your faith into any god. Very well. Each person has his own thoughts and desires.” said the Head Druid with a sigh. “Now, may I see the fragment?”

Alder handed the Head Druid the fragment and watched as he examined the fragment.

“The stone was broken 200 years ago in the Year 170. Yet, here a fragment remains.” muttered the Head Druid. He then turned to face Alder. “Tell me, how did you know of this fragment?”

“My family have been tasked to protect this fragment since then.” said Alder. “Also, my mother said something about restoring Infinitus. What is that?”

“Ah, that is a closely guarded secret. Do not mention this anywhere, unless you are certain of the fact they know it. Infinitus is the power exerted by Guthix. This power keeps the gods from entering this realm. Now that Guthix has been imprisoned, his edicts are losing their powers. My spies report that Saradomin and Zaros have already discovered that and are attempting to come back to Gilienor.” said the Head Druid.

“So how do we restore Infinitus?” asked Alder, who was slowly getting interested in the topic.

“There are 7 artifacts of all the gods. Saradomin, Zamorak, Zaros, Armadyl, Bandos and Drakan, the god of Vampyres. Each artifact is sapping the power of Guthix and is keeping him bound. Destroy all generals guarding the artifacts, and bring the artifacts to me. I will cast a spell and make it do the reverse of it's original effect.” said the Head Druid.

“What the hell? When was Drakan a god?” asked Alder.

“He became a god 30 years ago, when he got enough support from the Vampyres and used the Daeyalt Ore to make a power conducting staff. He used the staff with a piece of the Staff of Armadyl and channeled the power into him, making him a god. He is allied with Zamorak, as they both were close comrades even in the Second Age.” said the Head Druid. “Not many people know that Drakan is now a god, as many people, even most of the Vampyres, think he is in his Castle."

Hello there! I just finished reading your story! Just a few criticisms. First of all with dialogue, your punctuation isn't correct. There shouldn't be a period in the break between the dialogue and the normal prose. It should be a comma.

This is what you do:
"Sam has a dog." said Joe.

This is what you should do:
"Sam has a dog," said Joe.

Other than that I think this story has a lot of potential and you need to keep writing. You'll find as you keep writing your characters will become more complex and your plot will deepen. I look forward to seeing more from you!

Chapter 3: Stronger Alliances are Needed

All was quiet at the River Salve. Even the ghouls who usually make moaning and whining noises seemed to be quiet. Two lone figures stood from the Western part of the bridge of the River Salve. One figure was wearing an armour of gold, and had a morning star in his hand, while the other was wearing gray robes, with a gray hood. The man in the golden armour had black hair, and a goatee. However, the hooded man was wearing an iron mask, not making the face of the person visible. He was holding a short sword of runite and had two crimson daggers in his belt. Both the people's weapons glowed with a blue aura.

“Remember Devin, if the meeting goes wrong, kill the foul beasts.” said the main in the gold armour. Devin nodded.

A few minutes later, three figures could be seen. The one in the middle was unnaturally tall, while the other two walking next to him seemed to be bending. However, as the figures came into view, the unnaturally tall figure was revealed to be a vampyre. He had a bat-like face with glowing red eyes. His hands were winged and sharp, and he was wearing black clothing, with a red trim. In his hand was a black rod with a bat-like end. The other two figures were werewolves. They were dripping from their jaws and were covered in brown fur. They had pieces of ripped cloth lying here and there on their body.

“Well met, Devin and Blake. I am Sanguinus, and these two are my henchmen. Are you here for the parley?” asked Sanguinus in a calm tone. His voice was deep and confident.

“Indeed. Now, Lord Saradomin wishes for an alliance with Drakan. All the artifacts are still in control of our side, and no artifact is broken yet. Do you have the artifact with you?” asked Blake in a suspicious tone.

“Of course.” said Sanguinus as he took out a red statuette. It was in the shape of a vampyre holding a green orb. “How about you?”

“Likewise.” said Blake as he took out a gold statuette in the shape of an angel holding a green orb.
“However, I can see that the statuette you have is fake, as the orb is in the wrong position. The orb should be below the vampyre, like the rest of the statuettes.”

Sanguinus hissed. He motioned his arm forwards and the werewolves launched themselves forward.
As Blake was occupied with one werewolf, Devin readied himself. The werewolf pounced on him and he rold sideways. He quickly stood up just in time, to parry a slash from the werewolf's massive paw with his sword. He then took out a knife and stabbed the werewolf's paw, causing the werewolf to howl in pain. Using this distraction, Devin kicked the werewolf in the groin causing the werewolf to kneel down in pain. Devin then took used his sword and stabbed the werewolf's neck, killing it. Devin then cleaned the blood. He looked to see Blake smack the other werewolf's face with the morning star, causing the werewolf to fall in the River Salve and dissolve. Sanguinius hissed in frustration and teleported.
“Why would he want to show us a fake artifact?” asked Devin.

“I suppose they were under the impression that we wanted to steal their artifact. The alliances are too fragile, and all sides do not trust each other. We must act as one, and protect our artifacts from our common enemy Guthix, and his followers.” replied Blake. “Now come, we must meet with the forces of Bandos.”

***

A few hours later, Blake and Devin were on the other side if Gilienor, near the Feldip Hills. They were perched on top of two trees, and were looking down below. A rumble was heard nearby, and two ogres stepped out. They both stood up to 12 feet, and were the colour of sand. They had massive fists as well, which had many **** and bruises. One ogre was covered in nothing but a red loin cloth while the other ogre wore battle armour and carried a deadly spiked mace. Both the ogres roared, causing many birds to fly away in terror.

“My name Scrunch and other name Funchar.” rumbled Scrunch. His voice resembled a rockslide. “Glory for Bandos!”

“My name is Blake and this here is my student, Devin.” said Blake. Both the men kept their hands on their weapons, as ogres were known for attacking and eating humans whenever they wished to.

“We have Big High War God item! You have puny god item?” asked Funchar, as he took out a stone. The stone had a green orb embedded inside it.

“Yes we do.” said Devin as he showed them the angel statuette.

Both the ogres roared, making Devin and Blake jump. “GOOD! Now Big High War God look at you before killing you by stepping!” said Funchar and made another rockslide noise. This noise was different from the previous noise, and Devin assumed that Funchar was laughing.

“We eat you now?* asked Scrunch, smiling and revealing his huge teeth. There were lots of chunks of flesh in between the teeth, and many of the teeth were brown.

“Umm..I'm afraid not.* said Devin who was now gripping his sword tightly. He wanted to leave before things got out of hand.

Blake appeared to be thinking the same thing too. “Thank you for showing us the artifact, we will take our leave now.” said Blake with a wave of his hand. Both the men began to walk towards Yanille.

“That was an awkward meeting.” said Devin with a laugh.

Blake smiled. “I agree. As long as the ogres are not too dim-witted about the artifact and try experimenting with it, by throwing it here and there and by putting it in lava in Gu'Tanoth, I reckon everything will be fine.”
