Introduction

The kingdom of Valender has been swept into chaos.

It all began ten years ago, with the invention of the cookie. At first, it had just been a delicious snack, that the lords and ladies who ruled the land would munch on regularly, and the commoners would buy for their children whenever they had extra money. But eventually, they became addictive.

Nobles began to hoard them. Businesses began to pay their workers for them. Commoners would riot whenever there was a shortage. Eventually it just got to the point where there weren't enough cookies, or ingredients to make them.

Lady Annie was the first to take action. She invaded Lord Westenev's lands and seized several of his cookie producing facilities. Lord Westenev retaliated, and the other Lords had gotten involved as well. The King had been unable to resolve the dispute, and a massive civil war broke out. Alliances were made, only to broken weeks later. Entire fortresses and cities were sold out by once loyal generals and politicians who had been bribed with a substantial amount of cookies.

The country was tearing itself apart, but no one could see past their own selfish desire for cookies and put a stop to it. For the past few years, all Valender had ever known was war. Which brings us to today...

-----

"To arms! To arms!"

Archers ran to the battlements. Engineers flocked around the siege weapons, ready to operate them. Footsoldiers formed up in front of the gate.

Lord Lasky stood atop the ramparts of Fort Infinity in a full suit of steel plated armor with an elaborate golden trim. In his left hand was a steel shield painted with blue and yellow colouring of his house. In his right was a steel broadsword. He looked down at his men with grim determination.

"Our home city has fallen! This fortress is all we have left, and the enemy is at its gates!" He shouted down. So far his speech wasn't doing a whole lot to raise his soldiers' spirits.

"But fear not! Fort Infinity has been besieged countless times before, and not once has it fallen! We are strong, our walls stronger, and we have enough cookies to sustain ourselves for years! They may have taken our lands, they may be looting your family homes for every last penny, but they will never take..." He paused to take a breath. "OUR COOKIES!!!"

And at this, his 3,000 men cheered.

Although those cookies were the very reason they were in this predicament. Lasky had the greatest cookie hoard in the land. So great, that several lords had set aside their differences to band together and attack.

They were vastly outnumbered, their only advantage being their fortifications - eighty foot high walls, a thick wooden gate reinforced with metal and an iron portcullis over it, numerous trebuchet* ready to launch rocks at their invaders, as well as burning oil and other counters to their enemies' own siege weapons.

A rock slammed into the fortress wall, landing directly on the ramparts and crushing a trebuchet as well as three other men. The battle had begun.

Summary

This is the Cookie Crusades. A medieval themed roleplay set in the fictional kingdom of Valender. Cookies have somehow been invented early, and everyone has gone crazy over them, resulting in a massive war as every lord tries to stake his claim.

You are one of these lords, roleplaying as yourself, if you were a power hungry cookie addicted noble in a medieval world gone mad.

This thread will focus on The Battle of Fort Infinity. After Lord Lasky's main city fell to numerous invaders, he took the remainder of his men and most of his cookies to the fort to make one final stand. The other lords who had allied against him are now laying siege to that very fort.

But as the gates burst open and they come closer to their prize, will this uneasy alliance hold? Or will its members betray each other in an attempt to claim the cookies for themselves?

There is no magic, and the only race you can play as is human.

Rules

1. Jagex rules apply.
2. No magic.
3. You must be human.
4. Your forces may not exceed 5,000 soldiers.
5. You can't autohit the fortress defenses. Lords, generals, or any characters who are vital to the battle can't be autohit either. You also can't say things like "Lord Venom's forces attacked and killed Lasky's men." Instead it should be: "Lord Venom attacked Lasky's men." And based on equipment, numbers, training, and tactical advantage, I decide the outcome.
6. Have fun!

Bio Format

No bio format. Just post a non-bio, which specifies how many soldiers (archers, cavalry, infantry, knights, etc.) and siege weapons you have. Remember that your army cannot exceed 5,000 men. Please post how you're attacking the fortress as well.

Fort Infinity

Fort Infinity sits in a well defended location - positioned between three mountains to the north, south, and west, meaning that only the east side needs to be walled.

It sturdy walls which are eighty feet high and twenty feet thick. It has one entrance, with an iron portcullis that can be lowered and raised by a mechanism atop the wall, as well as a thick wooden gate reinforced with metal.

500 longbowmen stand on top of the walls, ready to fire armor-piercing arrows down on the attackers. 100 more are ready to man siege equipment and other defenses - a dozen trebuchets, and two dozen ballistas, as well as rocks and burning oil which could be dumped on attackers. There were also 300 footsoldiers, clad in steel chainmail with wooden shields and steel swords are on the walls as well, and 100 pikemen with long metal pikes and steel chainmail, ready to attack any who attempt to scale them.

The remaining 1000 stand on the ground, just inside the gates. 200 are elite knights clad in steel plate armor. 300 of them are spearmen wearing steel chainmail with heavy steel shields and holding steel pikes. 200 more are infantry equipped in the same manner as the ones on the walls. The remaining 300 are conscripted militia with limited training, wearing hardened leather armor and wooden shields, with iron swords and axes for weapons.
