Like sheep, the guards followed the figure along the jagged path through the black rock. One of the guards touched the walls and realized it was smooth and cold, as if carved by magic.
The figure appeared to shrink in size, but as they followed, they realized they were descending down a stairs. The spiraling stairs seemed to have no end, as they climbed further and further down into the earth. No floor came in sight as five minutes passed, then ten, then fifteen.
Finally, they walked on flat ground again. They looked around and saw they were in a gigantic cavern. It must have been five hundred feet high and wide enough to fit all of Lumbridge into it! Pools of magma, seemingly sporadically placed, lay all around the cavern, and in the center lay the largest, most misshapen boulder either of them had ever seen.
As they got closer, the earth quaked and rumbled, and flames burst out of a large crack in the ground. A behemoth of a man emerged from the flames and sat down on the boulder, which both guards now realized was a throne.
The hooded figure fell to its knees and bowed down to the man. The guards did the same.
"Has the plan gone accordingly?" rumbled the man.
"Yes m'lord," humbly replied the hooded figure in a woman's voice. "Falador lies in ruins and Seers' Village ceases to exist. The White Knights and Arthur's Round Table are all but wiped out."
"Excellent. This is very good news! Continue our plans and don't fail me, or you'll suffer my wrath for all eternity!"
"Yes m'lord! You shall soon be free from your imprisonment and shall rule all."
"Not rule, my servant, create! I will create again!"
"Yes m'lord. And for my escorts?"
"They've helped us greatly. Show them mercy and reward them."
"Yes m'lord, it shall be done."
With that, the flames disappeared and the man was gone. The woman stood up and beckoned them again. They follow her to the foot of the stairs and catch up near a bubbling pool of magma.
