Sorry for the extraordinarly long wait, but I haven't gotten 'round to posting. I've had the next section of story for about 3 months, but eh. ONE has taken a long break on ANE (stopped around X-mas time) but has now started writing again.

Death did not come for Turaek. Instead, he was meet with an eerie silence. He could feel nothing, hear nothing, and after he opened his eyes, see nothing. For that split-second, there was nothing.

Abruptly, he was in a noisy, crowded hall filled with dozens of fighters talking, buying and selling, and storing items in a large chest in the corner of the room. Turaek stood up and spotted (A)srown by a green, glowing portal.

"Hey (A)srown...What just happened?"

(A)srown grinned, "You were saved! The time expired a split-second before you met your maker!"

"So it was close then huh?"

"Very! Anyways, shall we leave here and go to where I originally planned?"

Turaek sighed. "No, I want to go home."

(A)srown chuckled. "No can do. We have to get going."

(A)srown raised him arms and they disappeared in a ball of purple light.

Yeah, it's not much but apparently OHS has got a huge add planned. Beware!

Somewhere above the Wilderness
______________________________

A mysterious figure, dressed in ash grey robes and guarded by two muscular bodyguards, walks across a narrow bridge of hardened lava. Below the group, molten rock bubbles and swirls around in a slow, lazy pool. The steam that rises from the lava pond causes the heavily armored men to sweat profusely. The heat slows their pace and one stumbles, barely making across the bridge. Panting heavily, they both look at the robed figure. It showed no signs of weakness or even slowly. They scrambled to their feet in an effort to catch up to their client.

Up ahead, the guards see a small entrance in the side of a hill made from years of volcanic ash and magma. Aside from a few burn marks caused by the occasional lava bomb, the hill was completely covered in a thick layer of vegetation.

As they reach the cave, the ground begins to rumble and lava pours out of the pool under the bridge. It consumes the bridge, blocking their only exit and continues on it's path of destruction. The men, getting more and more nervous, look at their client, then the advancing river of molten rock.

An old man at the Blue Moon Inn had offered them a job and told them it would be a simple matter of guarding a friend of his for a little bit. They didn't think the job would lead them into the deep Wilderness, over dizzying heights and graveyards, to finally choose between incineration by lava or to enter the unknown by means of a dark, damp cave.
A small lava bomb made up their mind. They rushed through the entrance in a flash of unimaginable speed.

The opening closed with a SWOOSH behind the trio, but only the two guards jumped. They were getting more and more nervous and only wanted to go home. It took them a few seconds to realize that the long winding pathway was lit, and even longer to realize that their hooded friend was beckoning to them.

Like sheep, the guards followed the figure along the jagged path through the black rock. One of the guards touched the walls and realized it was smooth and cold, as if carved by magic.

The figure appeared to shrink in size, but as they followed, they realized they were descending down a stairs. The spiraling stairs seemed to have no end, as they climbed further and further down into the earth. No floor came in sight as five minutes passed, then ten, then fifteen.

Finally, they walked on flat ground again. They looked around and saw they were in a gigantic cavern. It must have been five hundred feet high and wide enough to fit all of Lumbridge into it! Pools of magma, seemingly sporadically placed, lay all around the cavern, and in the center lay the largest, most misshapen boulder either of them had ever seen.

As they got closer, the earth quaked and rumbled, and flames burst out of a large crack in the ground. A behemoth of a man emerged from the flames and sat down on the boulder, which both guards now realized was a throne.

The hooded figure fell to its knees and bowed down to the man. The guards did the same.

"Has the plan gone accordingly?" rumbled the man.

"Yes m'lord," humbly replied the hooded figure in a woman's voice. "Falador lies in ruins and Seers' Village ceases to exist. The White Knights and Arthur's Round Table are all but wiped out."

"Excellent. This is very good news! Continue our plans and don't fail me, or you'll suffer my wrath for all eternity!"

"Yes m'lord! You shall soon be free from your imprisonment and shall rule all."

"Not rule, my servant, create! I will create again!"

"Yes m'lord. And for my escorts?"

"They've helped us greatly. Show them mercy and reward them."

"Yes m'lord, it shall be done."

With that, the flames disappeared and the man was gone. The woman stood up and beckoned them again. They follow her to the foot of the stairs and catch up near a bubbling pool of magma.

"You two have done greatly in bringing me here. Both of you will live as legends as the ones who helped the Great One in his second rising."

The woman reaches into her robe. "Now the matter of your payment."

The glint of greed flashes in both guards' eyes as she digs around in her robe.

"Ah yes, here it is!" In one motion, she pulls out a dragon dagger and nicks one guard's throat. He falls to the ground, gasping for air as blood splurts all over the floor. The other guard, horrified at what he had just witnessed, desperately attempts to flee, but the woman blasts him with a blood red ball of light and he is flung back into the magma. His screams last only a few seconds, then silence as the magma destroys the last of him.

She drags the other guard, still gasping for breath, over to the magma pool.

"Your reward is death. By bringing me here, you have assured the death of millions. My master will wipe all those who oppose him off the face of this world and restore his regime. Those who join him will be rewarded beyond their wildest dreams. You have helped bring the extermination of your people and all those who you love. Your reward is to not live long enough to experience the pain your loved ones will face and the global war that will consume all. You my friend, have ended the old ways and ushered in a new era."

The poor man's eyes widened and the woman broke his neck. The gurgling stopped and she dragged his body to the pool. Like the other guard, the magma quickly incinerates his body, leaving no evidence of the terrible crime.

The women cleans her bloody hands on her robe and laughs.

"Soon my master, the gods will quake in fear as you grind them to dust."

And with that, she begins her ascent up the stairs.
